Just got a recorded message about tomorrow's, 3/5, free food night for STH. It is necessary to print off the ticket so that it can be scanned by Jackets personnel in order that a wristband may be issued. I guess the preloaded card won't get it done. Had I not gotten this phone call, I would not have known this process was necessary. Thorough I'd pass the info along, in case some of you might miss the alert.

My understanding is that you also need to print out and bring the free food coupon which you can find under "Manage My Tickets". It appears under 3/5/13.

"Gluttony" night, I love it. I'll be there with my printed tickets waiting for a 1/2# hot dog, donatos pizza and whatever else I can find.
Then my diet starts Wednesday :)

better get the Donatos before you get to the rink. "Papa's in the house!"

People who take bags out are disgusting. I think they should limit this before they end up cancelling it altogether. Coupons that could be punched five times per entree, per snack, etc would get it done. It's not only embarrassing, but they're ruining it for everyone else. It's free food *night* not, free food for cousins, aunts and uncles for a week night.

Papa Johns at the arena does suck. I might load up on that new popcorn they have and Stone Cold ice cream.

having tried the ice cream, it's good, but it aint what you get at the shop :)

I like to use free food night to try some new things. Anything new on the concourse level besides the cracker jack style popcorn?

Didn't know they did a free food night - that's awesome! There are advantages to being in a junior hockey city, but this is one of the obvious disadvantages

Enjoy!

This is the one game I have to miss all season due to a work commitment. Let me say I am addicted to the popcornopolous zebra popcorn which is new this season. The prime rib sandwiches and stir fry in club are cool, too. Also, I usually get an order of chocolate covered strawberries on free food night. Probably better for me that I have to work...

Wooten: there is sushi and shrimp cocktail in the "convenience store" on the main concourse. I've never had the guts to test it, seems too wrong at a hockey arena, but friends have had both and give a thumbs up.

The free food is only for PSL holders.

Can't get anything free from the convenience store. :( Not that I would try the sushi or shrimp if it was.

The voucher's are a good step towards cutting down the abuse.

...what is your reasoning in pointing this out? I came in and said some nice words, did I somehow offend you?

No, sorry if it come off that way. When I read your original post I thought you were thinking that everyone in the arena got free food and I guess that was not the case. My second reply was more for general information of the board then a direct answers to you in case anyone that is a STH without a PSL was wondering why they did not get a phone call or email.

Shows how much pizza I eat there! lol

I agree on the disgust for folks loading up to take it home. Now me and a buddy of mine have done it every year they've done it (4X I think?) and it's fun for us to see how much crap we can eat, but I would nover dream of taking the stuff home and warming it up later.

But I think it's a cool thank you from the team.

The Ghost Pepper pulled chicken sandwich served at the "Chef's Corner" (main concourse at the top of the escalator leading to McConnell Blvd.) is really good...if you like SPICY food! Also, the homemade Italian sausage and the Arch City Chop (their version of a Philly steak sandwich) at the same stand.

Here is the thing. Until last year we never took anything home either. But last season, I stopped to buy a beer. The stand also had bags of salted peanuts. The guy asks me, "Hey, you want some free peanuts to go along with that beer?" I said "no thanks, I'm stuffed". He grabbed two bags and litterally threw them at me and said "Take em home". They did the same thing at the M&M's stand. They were actually telling us to take the crap home with us. I only took the 2 bags of peanuts, but my buddy really cashed in.

Hell, if they are begging us to take it, what-the-hell-ever.

I see nothing wrong with taking a few items home. I have done it and will come home with at least a bag of peanuts. It's the people with shopping bags filled that I kind of have a problem with because some stands will be out of some items well before the game is over. But from what I have been told DNC does not care. They make their money back in drink sales and there is some form of a write off involved too.
