Any thoughts on taking a flyer on Turris after he's bought out? Man he was a thorn in our side in Ottawa and he completely nose dived in Nashville.

I think we’re going to see a lot of teams make trades like the Ryan Murray and Paul Stastny deals, where it’s really just moving money for futures.

I feel for the borderline and AHL guys of there’s no season for them. For some I wonder if this is the end of their careers.

I have no interest in bringing back Fast for multiple reasons. First off, he’s a smaller guy, his body will break down with his style of play. Secondly and most importantly I don’t want to bring him back because I don’t want to see Quinn force him into the top 6. He’s not a top 6 player. They have to see what they have in Goat. He’s got a unique skill set, that’s why he was drafted where he was. You can’t teach size to go along with speed. We all like Fast, but I will lose my mind watching him f*** up offensive chances playing in the top 6.

I think this is one of the off-seasons where the Rangers do not make a splash. Last year's prize didn't disappoint but with the cap issues (even though we cleared some) and the dead space, I think this is just some tweaks. I appreciate everyone's views on this board but having Strome back for 1 more season at his arbitration award, may not be the worst option. I LOVE when we get new players because it's fresh and different. For example - Matt Martin - I don't want the Rangers to get him but if they do, I will be curious how he'd look in Ranger blue - sort of like Rich Pilon 20 years ago - yes I am old.

honestly this is kind of a no-brainer. any combo of Maroon, Wennberg, Jankowski, Rodrigues, Cousins, Hinostroza, Larsson would be perfect and you dont even really need more than 1.

I wouldn't even despise Martin, he's not good but he's not bad either.

i prefer Clifford over Martin, more playoff experience and I like Martin as a player and seems like a good dude. Clifford is a better player in my opinion

With regard to Matt Martin...

Mike Johnston said it best just moments ago on SiriusXM NHL Morning Skate..

‘You simply cannot pay more than $1 million for 4th line players. Your 4th line needs to be comprised of young players and/or ELCs and Vets on the league minimum.’

So anything more than that $1 million for Matt Martin is a disaster

At least if it's over a year long deal.

I mean, if you've got extra space, you can give a one year deal at whatever.

Interesting. He's moving to his hometown club in the second division, probably has something to do with that. Salary, insurance, NYRs stance on the matter.

To be clear I don’t think Martin will play for the rangers. He was very close to becoming a ranger two years ago when Toronto was looking to trade him. Unless the market for him completely dies I’d expect him to resign for the isles

I think a lot depends on where Pietrangelo goes and that’ll open up DeAngelos market from there. I have always felt that Ada for nylander workings of a deal make sense but Toronto May feel they need more of a two way guy than an offensive guy. We’ll see I expect Gorton to get calls on him as soon as Pietrangelo signs

They are completely different defensemen, ADA would be a replacement of barrie for them, not the kind of defensive stalwart that can eat minutes that they appear to be looking for.
