He's played what, 9 games, and the majority of that with health of his newborn weighing on him?
I think it's a bit early to write him off as done. Guy gets some extra rope before I'll be too critical given the circumstances.
Rough on the Mrs too.. Ownership and management and the boys are all behind him to take the time he needsI get that it's a result oriented business... but worrying about the life of your newborn has to have a serious impact on you no matter what you do. I cant think of anything more stressful
Willing to give perron the benefit of the doubt on this one.
Wahlstrom isn’t going to help with that. The last time he was good offensively was 2018 in his draft year.We need scoring in our bottom six.
There’s a reason he’s on waivers. And there’s a reason why he was highly drafted. It’s very low risk. If he can develop chemistry with some one great. Maybe it gives stutzle a trigger man. I mean even if we we get like a nice run of 20 games from him it’s a win.Wahlstrom isn’t going to help with that. The last time he was good offensively was 2018 in his draft year.
Stutzle is turning Adam gaudette into a passable 5v5 player. He can do the same for whalstromIt sure sounds like Wahlstrom's knee(s?) is done and can't keep up.
We need to get faster, not slower.

I don't think I would claim him but if you could get them to retain a bit....Engvall for PK help and speed?
Boucher never even had the draft pedigreeGaudette is better than Wahlstrom. He’s been better at every single level. The only thing Wahlstrom has on him is “draft pedigree”, but that only lasts so long (see: Boucher, Tyler).
Wahlstrom is an AHLer. If he goes down there, works on his game and figures out how to score in the Pros, maybe he can be another team’s Gaudette in 3 years.

Whalstrom has scored 12 and 13 goals before.
Not sure how much better gaudette is.
It sounds like I’m a massive whalstrom fan. I’m not. It’s just a low risk medium reward play. Much like tolvanen a few years ago. And fabbro. And bunch of others that did NOT work.
Try Wahlstrom on Stu's line for a few games and push Gaudette to the 3rd or 4th line? The Gaud has shown he can score in a depth role, and it wouldn't be the most risky gamble. Plus gives us a chance to bench one of Greig or Amadio who need to wake tf up.He could be a reclamation project for some team, I agree. But where do you play him here?
Yeah see if stutzle can have some chemistry with whalstrom. We are very thin on young wingers with offensive talent. He could be a reclamation project for some team, I agree. But where do you play him here?
Your post seemed to insinuate that you’d put him with Stützle over Gaudette, which, IMO, would only make that line worse.
Gaudette has already matched Wahlstrom’s career high in goals (in 27 games) and has been a much more prolific scorer at the NCAA and AHL levels in the past. Leads me to believe that the promise people saw in Wahlstrom after 1 year with USNTDP was a mirage. He hasn’t been able to score at any level, and doesn’t do much else.
I don’t see anyone in our lineup that I’d take out to fit Wahlstrom in. Gaudette earned his shot with a 44 goal AHL season. If Wahlstrom does that some team will give him a shot.
Yes, he is a descendant of the ostrich family.Engvall would help increase the average neck length of the sens tremendously.
who do we sign as a backup for 2025?
Lankinen specfically took a massive paycut with Vancouver because he wanted to be able to play in a starter's role on a team that has the possibility of being a contender. Can't see him signing with us. Either Demko gets LTIR'd and Nucks sign him long term, or another bubble team with a lot of cap space does. Lyon would be great. Some really good names there. Among the names that I expect will be available, and for a reasonable price, Lankinen and Lyon stick out.
Well I just know how old he is. And this year we accepted was gonna be the year for him and expect a dip next year. He's played what, 9 games, and the majority of that with health of his newborn weighing on him?
