Instead of trading for Debrincat, I would have taken on the Monahan cap dump in 2022 ngl.
Lassi Thomson! Is there no potential offensive d men in Europe right now that could come over
If I’m moving a big young Right Handed Centre I want a RD in return.Definitely. Much better player offensively, and this team desperately needs scoring
Only RW we have in the entire organization is Batherson, everything else is just mismatched junk we are playing above where they should be
It's sad that they're spending to the cap yet still have so many holes to fill with no really good prospects in the pipeline other than Yak.Yeah and then you have no 3C, so you gotta go find one unless you’re trusting Greig in that role which might not be wise just yet.
IMO the team needs one really good winger still but if I’m prioritizing where to spend money it’s on the defense. If the sens could create any offense from the backend they could live with this forward group.
Hamonic yes, JBD, no.Boston have put Alex Regula on waivers. Twenty four years old, right shot defenseman, 6'4" 211lbs and a plus 36 last year in the AHL. I think this guy would be a very sensible waiver pick up. I suspect he'd be an improvement on both Hamonic and JBD at virtually no cost.
Absolutely a guy they should be putting a claim in on.Boston have put Alex Regula on waivers. Twenty four years old, right shot defenseman, 6'4" 211lbs and a plus 36 last year in the AHL. Too good to be true? He has no 2024-25 stats on hockeydb.com, that's weird.Boston have put Alex Regula on waivers. Knee injury. I'm sure the thought is he will pass through given zero games - but f*** it, we have a roster spot and can handle the cost. Rehab him, Hammer out when Zub returns, let JBD battle it out with him for the bottom pairing, play the loser on the 4th line RW! Cousins, fired into the sun.Too good to be true? So I guess he was just re-activated; could be rusty. Might be better to just wait for Zub to be back.
How many PIMs does he have...Absolutely a guy they should be putting a claim in on.
This year? Zero. But word is he took a double-minor once, in bantam. How many PIMs does he have...
I'd die of happiness. Having a player raised in my hometown playing for my favourite team would've been an absolute pleasureInstead of trading for Debrincat, I would have taken on the Monahan cap dump in 2022 ngl.
Monahan would have also been an excellent locker room guy unlike DeBrincat, and we could have gotten an additional piece for him at the trade deadline last year if things went south.I'd die of happiness. Wouldn't hurt to have a guy like that in Belleville either. He has 26 points in 55 games so he's not just a pure shutdown guy either.Boston have put Alex Regula on waivers. Unfortunately the Oilers claimed him today. Passing on Regula is something we may well regret.Wouldn't hurt to have a guy like that in Belleville either. He has 26 points in 55 games so he's not just a pure shutdown guy either.
Hamonic absolutely. I think if JBD is your 6th best Dman you have a strong team, even as your 5th best, JBD is fine. The issue is when JBD is your 4th best Dman... Yikes. And as of now he is our 4th best Dman.I don't know enough about Regula to say if it's good or bad that we didn't claim him but I think we need more than a waiver wire pick up on defense to make a difference.
We need a guy who can come in and be the solid link on his pair, a guy who can legitimately help Kleven for example. We need a guy who can skate and be reliable every night. Nothing too fancy but still.
JBD/Hamonic in my opinion should be the 7th/8th Ds on this team and jump in when Zub gets injured.
