Now that we have capable 2C locked in, Drury has flexibility to make other moves as he sees fit. The most straightforward is too bridge Kakko and add a cheap 4th line PK guy (Carpenter?), but theyve still got valuable assets (Kakko/Nils/MAYBE Chytil) to add another big piece (with retainage?) if they so choose. Good spot to be in.

Motte is a luxury. We’ve got Goodrow, Blais, Rydahl, Reaves and Hunt all under contract for the bottom six. Just give Kakko what you can and see what happens in camp.

I don't think they just going to sit on high upside players because they can't crack the line up or are miscast on 3rd lines. Those become depreciating assets. There has to be a trade to help this team but also get as much as you can for some of our excess alledged top talent.

biggest problem really is either moving kreider down to the 3rd line so Laf can play top line or making someone play their off wing (Kreider, Laf)
