Surgery on his knee out 8 weeks at least Lebrun says so about 2 months December January back sometime February

It blows, but actually being able to put a bit more of a timeline on it is nice. Granted, we know Freddie is particular and it could end up being slightly longer than that even.
Thanks for the update....so Feb + 30 days Freddie factor gets him back in March which should be more than enough time to get him ready for mid-April. Don't like to hear it's a knee though.

Hope all goes well and that he has a peaceful, uneventful recovery. Surgery with clotting issues is sometimes more complicated.

I mean with all due respect to Freddie, we have to move on. He's basically done for the remainder of the regular season, and we really cannot reasonably expect Kooch-Martin to be enough to win the Cup this year. We have to make a trade to at least bring in a backup who can help shoulder more of the load, if not another starter. And once we do that, we really shouldn't look to go back to Freddie again late in the year. We did that last season and it blew up in our face. Don't want to have another season go to shit because a goalie who missed 75% of the season showed his rust at the worst possible moment.
And given his contract is up this summer, I'm not sure any other team is really going to risk taking a gamble on a goalie with blood clotting issues who is now going through major injury recoveries every year.
Whether he wants to admit it or not, he might have played his last game in the NHL already.
I mean, day to day ended up being effectively a season ending injury if the current timeline to recover from surgery is correct
