Tribute Former Stars Thread

Good morning Stars fans! In Carolina, we've been raving about Logan. He fits like a glove into what the Hurricanes do. He's hardworking, willing to hit, and he's not tentative about shooting the puck which at times has been a big need of ours. But I wanted to ask you, what do you think his ceiling is? I really hope he's a Hurricane for a long time and it looks like we got a win win trade out of a tough situation at the deadline.

I'd expect around 25g-60p if he hits his ceiling.
basically a good 2nd line wing option, with the ability to jump up as needed

I'm glad he's shooting because he seemed to defer alot in prime scoring areas in Dallas (total eye test, some chart nerd would probably correct me).

But yeah, he's a whirling dervish out there. Can never really question his effort, but sometimes he looks like he needs to harness that energy a bit with a little less running around. But he's alot of fun to watch. His GAF meter is super high.

Also, I snorted at your handle. Very nice.

I’m glad you’re loving him and not salty about the trade. He’s going to be a fan favorite for a long time!

I think this will be viewed like the Niewy-Ignila trade, great for one team for a year (if we win the Cup) and great long term for the Canes, with Logan and several draft picks. Now, the Stars just have to win the Cup, and Karma probably dictates they end up in the finals with the Canes!

Idk if i’d go that far, and I love Stank. I just don’t think Iggy is a fair comparison for Stank at all. I can see Stank’s best years being in the 65 point range and will have more of a Gallagher type career. Still very valuable to a team but not a guy you rely on consistently for points, or to take over a game.

I don't think the Stars expected Iginla to become as good as he did when he was traded . He wasn't even the prospect the Flames initially wanted IRC .

I also think Rantanen is a better player than Nieuwy was when the Stars aquired him

Todd f***ing Harvey.
God what could have been with Iginla and Newy on this team with Langenbrunner with no cap...

Agreed, but the Niewy trade was one for one, with no slew of high draft picks, so I think it evens that out, depending of course, on how CAR uses those draft picks, which we hope are no lower than 32nd....
