Add any names to this list of analysts, writers, radio show hosts etc who refuse to admit there is at least a chance that matt cooke's kick to erik karlsson's leg was intentional. And if you have quotes, i'll add them.

This is to get an idea of how distorted public opinion can get and how that happens.

No one can know 100%(as many of them are saying) that there was no intent. Although most would admit this guy does not think the same way most other people do.

For future reference when the truth becomes more apparent, hopefully these characters will regret passing over this and take more responsibility for what they say on radio, television, and in the newspaper. It has a big influence on the public opinion. As a result now, we have a lot people defending matt cooke saying he is a changed man. A lot of people don't bother watching the replay and deciding for themselves, they just go on what they hear the "experts" say.
What i saw last week showed clearly that matt cooke is as crazy as ever.

Erik Karlsson is apparently very very angry in the hospital right now. If i were him i'd not only be angry at cooke but at the so called hockey fans defending him, especially the ones in ottawa.

Believe Erik Karlsson's injury was a freak accident:

Brendan Shanahan
Bob Mckenzie
Shawn Simpson
Dave Gross
Aaron Ward
Nick Kypreos
Doug Maclean
Darren Millard
Don Cherry

I believe it was a freak accident and I made the let's hate pittsburgh thread.

There is no way a human being purposely cuts the back of someone's leg.

Since we are nevergoing to find out exactly what Cooke's intentions were, i think this is a ridiculous thread.

Also, add me to the list that he didn't intentionally cut Karlsson's leg.

It was a moderately reckless hit that had terrible outcome. He wasn't even looking down to his left when his foot hit EK's heel. I find it insulting to ninjas everywhere that we are giving Cooke this much ninja credit.

Cooke is a mongtard. There is no question about that. Knowing his elite level of mongtardedness, there is no chance he did this on purpose.

Also, these threads make us Sens fans look like whiny school girls. It was a freak accident. The hit was high. He lost his balance, his foot came up. Once a foot goes up in the air, it has to come down. It was unlucky that it landed where it did.

STOP WATCHING THIS PLAY IN SLOW MOTION! It skews your perception of the event. In real speed it is easy to see that there was no intent to stomp. Intent to hit high and intent to hit forcefully, which may cause injury, but zero intent to cut his Achilles.

And yes, i am aware that Cooke's past transgressions rather correctly remove most if not all benefit of the doubt. That being said, i dont think he intended to cut EK.

Sooo, my name on the list?

Did Don Cherry even complain about Cooke before he ended Marc Savard's career? Unless it's against one of his favorite players, Cherry will usually blame the victim/defend any Canadian player (except Quebeckers) no matter what they do.

Marc Savard is from Orleans, Ontario, he's french but he is a franco Ontarian.

Let it go.

Exactly .... enough already.

Erik Karlsson is very angry in the hospital right now? Even tho he was on crutches at the rink joking around that he wanted to practice?

I dont believe that Cooke wanted to slice EK's achilles. The puck was coming around the boards, maybe he was trying to stop it with his skate? Maybe he wanted to slew foot EK? Maybe he lost his balance? Nobody will ever know...

Most of the local media is calling it completly wreckless, just not intentional.

In all honesty, Whats the point of this thread??

There's no way of knowing whether Cooke meant to do it, unless he comes out and says it was intentional, or if any of you have mind reading abilities.

Arguing whether over he meant do it or not is as stupid as arguing if god is real; no way of proving your argument.

Congrats. You are the eVersion of that guy who has an entire wall full of news clippings in his apartment, and inevitably gets busted by the cops for whatever.

This thread is sad, desperate vindictiveness.

What's done is done.

Do nothing and nothing will change. Choosing to defend and support Matt Cooke over Karlsson is the sad thing.

This isn't just about a play gone wrong in a hockey game. That's fine if some people want to forget about it. But there are other long time fans of hockey that want to see something done.

That stuff was even worse! There's a reason its cheaper than coke out there!

But all this Cooke/Karlsson nonsense is getting boring now, yes our superstar got injured but boo hoo!

Close this thread and let's move on from this. It wasn't intentional. Reckless? Maybe.

No use in creating a thread like this. It happened. Move on.

how can you say it wasn't intentional?

you can't.

There is a kicking/stomping motion and in my opinion and a lot of others it was an intent to injure.

But you cannot say there was definitely no intent to injure or 100% it was a freak accident.

would you be saying "it happened. move on" if you were attacked and paralyzed (example)? Investigation needs to be done and justice served. More people will get injured. Do something about it when savard's career was ended and we don't have this problem. The responsibility is on the nhl and the penguins. There was/is a possibility that karlsson will not be able to skate at the same level. It's just plain wrong to ignore it.
