• The Hurricanes and Flyers are meeting for the third of four matchups this season. The Canes will travel to Philadelphia on March 5th to round out the season series.
• The Flyers have been perfect against the Canes so far this season, posting a 4-1 win in Wells Fargo Center and a 5-3 win in Raleigh in a pair of November games. Despite tough sledding this season, the Hurricanes have been competitive against the Flyers in recent years, recording a 16-7-5 record since the beginning of the 2013-14 season.
• The Canes need to turn around their luck against the rest of the division. They are 3-9-1 against the Metro this season, by far the worst mark of any of the eight teams.
• The Finns have been hot against Philadelphia in their careers — Sebastian Aho has recorded 16 points (7g, 9a) in 15 career games against the Flyers, while Teuvo Teravainen has posted 18 points (6g, 12a) in 17 career games against.
• Jordan Martinook enters tonight’s matchup just one shy of 100 career points in the NHL. He’s earned 34 (17g, 17a) of those in a Hurricanes jersey.
• Brett Pesce picked up an assist on the lone Hurricanes goal against Tampa Bay, posting his 99th career NHL assist and extending his assist streak to three games — matching both the longest assist streak and the longest point streak of his career.
