The man has made tens of millions over NBC showing him talking to Phil Kessel on the bench after throwing a fit. The narrative that he was some kind of whisperer that can keep players in line was spun from there.
Meanwhile, they were most likely just discussing the over/under of the Brazilian soccer league game that night as a pair of degenerate gamblers are to do.
