Guys, he's barely going to play. It doesn't matter.

Who broke your brain to the point where claiming a depth forward upsets you?

Yeah, Starat, you idiot.

This is the first time this has happened and we know we can trust this staff to determine usage based on merit, so I have no idea why you even care.

It’s not like one bad player can lose you a game and one lost game can be the difference between making the playoffs or not. These mistakes don’t matter and he’s not even going to play!

How about you wait until this has happened a dozen or so times and we have reason to doubt the staff before making a fuss.

Yas Ted. No brainer. Not sure why he didn't get a shot in TB but that is a scoring profile with a high probability of success.

I would take pretty much every forward on the wire over Wilson though.

Imagine its hard to Captain the Phantoms when you play for the Flyers. Frost can Captain them next year instead. His timing will still be off.

If you want to keep malding over depth forwards then be my guess.

Nobody here actually knows if Frost was ready but its easier to just complain and think you know he is based off this preseason.

Tampa Bay is out here waiving players that would walk onto our NHL roster while we're collecting players who should be on tryouts for the Phantoms. 700-D chess.

Only 3 players were claimed off waivers, Barre-Boulet, Brooks and Brown.
Barre-Boulet (5'10 180) and Brooks (5'11 180) are undersized forwards who've struggled to translate lower level scoring chops to the NHL.
Brooks (25) had 6 ES points in 18 games after 40 AHL games scoring 8-13 21 at ES over 2 years.
Barre-Boulet (24) was a big AHL scorer, but 1 ES point in 15 games with TB, playing mostly with top 6 linemates.

Doubtful either would score on a 4th line and they're not suited for checking roles.

Barre-Boulet made sense for Seattle, they can give him an extended tryout without worrying about whether he flops.
Brooks is an interesting move for the Habs, Poehling is their 4C, 2 ES points in 27 games last year but a former #25 pick. They also have Perreault (34) on the 4th line. And Hoffman is out for a few weeks.

Brilliant hockey people here.
You might have noted that he keeps ending up on playoff rosters.
8 games for Carolina in 2018-19.
2 games for Vegas in 2019-20
8 games for Vegas in 2020-21.

He has scored more playoff goals (3) than regular season goals.

At Boston College, he won a national championship in 2012 and captained the Eagles to the Frozen Four as a senior in 2013-14. Brown served as captain for the Charlotte Checkers when the American Hockey League club won the Calder Cup in 2019.

In the preseason, Brown stepped in as a temporary assistant while the Silver Knights coaching staff was needed at the NHL level. He ran practice and was behind the bench with fill-in coach Deryk Engelland during the first exhibition game.

He's good enough to be the "13th forward" for a team like Vegas, he's good enough to be the "14th forward for us." Unfortunately, we need to play our 14th forward right now. Brown is a grinder, but he's smart, tough and reliable. When two well coached teams think he can help them in the playoffs, what's there to complain about - we didn't pick up a career AHL scorer who had 1 point in 15 games on TB's first line? This is definitely an upgrade over Wilson.

When the walking wounded return, Brown will go to the AHL where he'll be a good fit and maybe even groomed as a future assistant coach.
He would have to clear waivers again

So? When Hayes and Frost return, will the Flyers care?
Whoever claims him has to put him on their roster, most teams would want him in the same role as the Flyers, AHL insurance policy.

He seems more upset about you not liking the move than you are about the move itself.

For some reason your opinion on this specific claim means the world to him, so please just tell him you’re ok with it so he can move on and live his life.

I think he's just trying to add another legend to his tally. Ain't gonna happen, though.

I'm not the one malding over Patrick Brown. The most minor things to too many posters on here turn into nuclear level problems. It doesn't bring anything to Flyers discourse but ass-mad negativity and some people seem proud of that.
