Brilliant hockey people here.
You might have noted that he keeps ending up on playoff rosters.
8 games for Carolina in 2018-19.
2 games for Vegas in 2019-20
8 games for Vegas in 2020-21.
He has scored more playoff goals (3) than regular season goals.
At Boston College, he won a national championship in 2012 and captained the Eagles to the Frozen Four as a senior in 2013-14. Brown served as captain for the Charlotte Checkers when the American Hockey League club
won the Calder Cup in 2019.
In the preseason, Brown stepped in as a temporary assistant while the Silver Knights coaching staff was needed at the NHL level. He ran practice and was behind the bench with
fill-in coach Deryk Engelland during the first exhibition game.
He's good enough to be the "13th forward" for a team like Vegas, he's good enough to be the "14th forward for us." Unfortunately, we need to play our 14th forward right now. Brown is a grinder, but he's smart, tough and reliable. When two well coached teams think he can help them in the playoffs, what's there to complain about - we didn't pick up a career AHL scorer who had 1 point in 15 games on TB's first line? This is definitely an upgrade over Wilson.
When the walking wounded return, Brown will go to the AHL where he'll be a good fit and maybe even groomed as a future assistant coach.
