Well this is a pretty solid trade, especially given the dire goaltender situation. I still have nightmares about Clarke panicking after Roenick got hurt and dealing away a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Maxime Ouellet for 19 games from an over-the-hill Adam Oates.

Only worse trade was Justin Williams for a chain-smoking Russian defenseman.

Had we not lost Desjardins to injury and won the Cup, nobody would have given a **** about the career Justin Williams went on to have. Just the way it goes. I have no issue with that trade still to this day.

The Sharp trade on the other hand was a disgrace.
Agreed. Markov was needed at the time and was a legit top 4 defender with toughness and attitude. Williams wasn't working out and who knows if he ever gets his career on track without getting a fresh start at that point in his career. Long term the trade didn't work out but at the time it made perfect sense.

So care to explain why you're making awful hypothetical trades for Sanheim?
Yeah because Max Domi and Sam Reinhart are awful. The difference between Sanheim and them is that while he has high upside the other two have already proven they can actually play at the NHL level. Sanheim has a lot of work to do to even becoming a regular NHL'er.

Sanheim will have more of an impact on the Flyers in the future than both of them would combined.

So I guess, hypothetically, if whoever picks Dahlin offered him to us for Raffl, you wouldn't do it? After all, Raffl has proven to be an NHL player and Dahlin hasn't proved anything at the NHL level.

OK, makes sense.

You couldn't come up with a more apples to oranges comparison if you tried.
