I’m not the biggest Dubas fan but what’s wrong with being excited when your team ties it up to keep your playoff hopes alive? The Leafs should fire the GM and coach. When the Leafs scored in the third to keep their razor thin hopes alive (down 3 - 1 in the series), the camera pans to those two douchebags, and the douche chills are on full display. They're hanging on to the series by a thread, and the stylish glasses GM is so excited with his rich friends he practically creams his shorts, and the steakhead coach with the creepy block head wants to jump on the ice so bad and lift weights. They jump around like giddy schoolgirls and hug and get all juiced and scream and shit. But the game is tied the game at 2 - 2, and they're down 3 - 1. They didn't win anything yet. Just one series. One series.
Oh you know he would've 100% deflected that shot and saved a goal? Maybe he deflects the shot and it scores anyway?
The Leafs lost 4 games to 1. We're not talking about a game 7 OT here. Your team choked again. your anger is misplaced.
Maybe if the top guys showed up this series none of this would be an issue. Blaming the refs for a loss is the easy way out.It doesn't, but a missed call that causes the OT winner is bigger than a non call because Hagel's trying to embellish and the refs tell him to grow up
Lots of penalties against Bunting aren't called for the same reason. Like when he got high sticked and caused blood and the Leafs got a 2 min PP instead of 4
Woll was better than Samsonov this series.Woll held his own. He played really good tonight. Leafs got some breaks vs Tampa, didn't get them this series.
You're not going to win in the playoffs when your big guns don't produce. You may win a game or two if some of the supporting cast shows up, but over a 7 game series you're not winning if your top guys can't even muster a single goal the entire series. Nylander was the only one of the "core 4" who looked dangerous.
What's really stupid is when people put statements in their posts like "anyone who disagrees with me is..."That play is the literal definition of a blatant penalty that leads to a goal against. To argue otherwise is really stupid. It's okay to admit the refs messed up.
Glass houses, you appear to be an oilers fan.
Nah. For a career of borderline and outright dirty hits. And in this instance I can understand being excited but it's telling when a guy decides to scream in the face of the goalie like that. For traumatizing children like that?

The Leafs got into the second round in part because of a non-call on a blatant high stick that happened headed into OT in a game 7.
The refs miss calls for sure. They're not the reason the Leafs lost 4 games to 1.
It's ok to admit that a team shit the bed. Again.
Imo Leafs are the true winners here. They got to experience what a deep playoff run feels like. It was uncharted territory for them. Most people can only dream of an adventure like that.
Thanks for the backhanded compliment, I guess. None of those three teams listed on the Leafs path are “easy” to beat. The arrogance of some TO fans/media even saying the road is now paved for the Leafs after Bs went out. Well, the team that “paved” that supposed road for you had something to say about it. Grasp on to anything that helps you get through this. Maybe the fan base finally will lose some of their unearned arrogance. But I imagine they won’t, they will hide behind a plethora of excuses all summer and come back next season as obnoxious and annoying as ever.Overall, the series was goalie difference. As I predicted before the start of the season, Leafs' goalie situation came to bite them.
The actual road to the finals would have been Tampa(in bad form), Panthers, and Hurricanes. One of the most fortunate roads to finals possible, yet Leafs blew it.
Credit to Panthers, though if I'm being honest, I think they got outplayed in just about every game overall. It mostly was just a matter of Bobrovsky completely outplaying the Leafs goalie game after game.
sensing sarcasm in that post.

No no, they GOT Florida’ed.Narrator: They got Florida.
I didn't say you called me stupid. But it's still lame to insert the "anyone who disagrees with me.." disclaimer into a post.I didn't call you stupid, I said your argument is stupid.
The Leafs were 10 minutes from eliminating Tampa in game 6 last year and they got a phantom 5 on 3 on two high sticks (that actually weren't high sticks but were only called because of embellishments) in a span of 10 seconds that extended their series. That combined with Hagel's embellishment made it quite fitting to be honest. You're comparing an accidental play in the neutral zone followed by a cringey embellishment in a game where they were letting everything to a deliberate play that had a direct impact on a goal being scored.
You're not going to get a more blatant holding of the stick than that within poke checking distance of the shooter... Plus everyone already agrees the Leafs players dug themselves a nearly impossible hole to climb out of so it's not an either or argument here, both are true.

The Leafs scored two goals, one was a seeing eye goal that bounced off a players leg. But yeah, fixate on a a hold of a stick that lasted less then half a second .
Here it is in real time. Good night kids.
