Sure they did. Crying about calls is weak. It's not why the Leafs lost the series 4-1.

The team you root for consistently underachieves. That doesn't make it the refs fault.

It doesn't, but a missed call that causes the OT winner is bigger than a non call because Hagel's trying to embellish and the refs tell him to grow up

Lots of penalties against Bunting aren't called for the same reason. Like when he got high sticked and caused blood and the Leafs got a 2 min PP instead of 4

But leafs are greatest team of all time refs should bow to them actually being on same ice

Keep digging that hole.

He took a high stick to the face. The refs should've called it and put Tampa on the PP to start OT.

There's missed calls in every series. It's not why the Leafs underachieved yet again in the postseason.

Last year Tampa won the series on a missed call. It happens.

That said, Florida scoring on a blatant penalty that caused the goal is very fitting for this series. Tons of stuff were let go in their favour.

This isn't even a Leafs reporter, it's a Chicago reporter posting it calling it brutal. Don't shoot the messenger, go attack that reporter for calling it brutal?

So what your saying is that when things go your way it's fine but when they don't it not so fine

Nah, when things lead to goals you have to call it. Just like how every goal is reviewed for offside.

They don't review plays for offside without a goal.

Your team lost I understand being pissed. But you should be pissed at the players that account for almost 50% of the teams cap that didn't show up.

It's not on the refs.

The Leafs could lose and the refs could have missed calls. Why does it have to be mutually exclusive?

Even if it's called, doesn't mean the Leafs win the game, let alone the series. However, call out poor officiating when you see it, otherwise you accept it. HfBoards seems content with poor officiating, just change the rulebook then - or make penalties reviewable if they lead to a goal - like a game stoppage and offside is.

I don't understand why you can't hold someone accountable for being bad at their job?

Absolutely. Where was Matthews all series? I didn’t even notice Tavares tonight and Matthews looked like shit. Leafs fans should be pissed at this core and should demand meaningful changes.

The refs are, quite clearly, not the problem in Toronto.

Because that's not what you're doing. You're trying to find excuses for why the Leafs blew it again.

Seriously, have a drink. go to bed. The refs haven't been great but overall in the playoffs but they're not the reason the Leafs lost again.

How can you say that while admiting they missed a call leading directly to the goal?

did you notice there was blood tonight and the panthers also only got 2? Or did that part seem fair to you since it wasn't in your favor?

The Leafs just needed much more from their highley paid players. You can have games where the depth wins it for your but at the end of the day your best players need to be your best players in a series and produce more than a combined 1 goal and 5 assists. That just doesn't cut it for 3 forwards paid a combined $33,500,000 of salary cap .
