I’ve seen bits of his game on video that why I said I don’t know. Just like Hagens or Misa, just bits, and just going by ranking.

I think it’s hard to judge these kids because seen so little video. Now, I have watched every Hab game so more confident commenting on existing nhl guys.

It’s so tough, wherever they pick I hope they hit a home run

OK fair enough.

Just nice to know we have legitimate potential help on the way. Might not always look great on the NHL level at times, but the entire picture of the rebuild has yet to be revealed.

We have much to look foward to imo.

This team needs more mental toughness. They only started really playing after Anderson scored. They need to play with that effort and intensity for a full 60 minutes.

At least Hutson scored finally, and Slaf looks good on the 1st line. Laine needs a real center because Newhook and Dach ain't cutting it.

Dvo working on that trade value hehe, that's good to see

Monty kept them in it for sure
The team is very weak mentally. A clinical theory-oriented sport psychologist doesn't cut it. You need someone who understands sports and athletes well.

It is sad that people have been reduced to just being happy with a good effort. Someone on another forum said it very well. They are professional athletes that are getting paid a ton of money for playing around 20 minutes every 2-3 days. The effort is non-negotiable. Every shift should be played like it's their last. Yes, good effort tonight sure... but the issue that team too often doesn't play with 100% or doesn't play the entire game with 100% effort or flat out quits. And that's absolutely inexcusable and everyone from coaches to players should somehow be held accountable.

Anyway... just venting... knowing that not much will change... good to see Hutson finally score. Kid is legit and hopefully one day he'll get to play on a good team.

Did MSL warn the players that Jets PP is ranked top 3 ? Did MSL stress the importance of not taking stupid penalties against Jets ?
Will there be consequences for taking stupid penalties?

Montreal is now number 1 in goal differential if you are looking up from bottom to top

Dach a complete non factor again. I doubt anything changes in his game this season.

Maybe something clicks in the summer before next season and he finds his game again.
Not a particularly great skater before his injury, some players never fully recover from ACL surgery.

Dach has lost whatever jump he had before that unfortunate injury.

I found he was fast in that he glided up the ice and was fast at doing so. Post-injury, not so much.

If he can't get that step back, I don't think he'll be a top 6 player.

Yea, if the team sport psychologist is the same guy that was being very cringe during the draft interviews on "the rebuild" show, then that would explain a lot

I wouldn't write off Dach yet. Remember Koivu? It def affected him but it took a while for him to get his mojo back. I would let the season play out and write it off for him. Next season though, if his game is still as bad, then it's likely he will never figure it out. Would he a shame!

And folks who keep harping about centers... It's def not the teams biggest need Imo. A good well rounded top 4 in defense is what we sorely lack.

And MSL not playing Matheson on the PK. I'd rather he put Barron or an orange cone anyways. At least those guys can improve.

Somewhere else. If Monahan or some decent center played behind NS it would be a different ball game for this team. We would be sniffing at a wildcard spot. Yes, that's how bad he's been.

Winnable game lost by terrible coaching yet again. Why change strategy right?
Don’t forget terrible reffing especially when Arbor was interfered with and 10 seconds later a weak call against Montreal that lets to a jets goal

Montembault won’t play every game. I’m sure Hughes is probably looking for a goalie right now. Even on a basement team, you can’t have a goalie that you’re afraid to use because he’s that bad. I wouldn’t bring any of the young goalies into the mess that is our team this year but that’s always an option as well.
Hughes isn’t young and he’s playing out of his mind and earned a look but that makes too much sense for this staff

Liked Slaf’s game. A little snakebitten but he played pretty well.
it's like the whole team is mentally fragile ,dear in the headlights syndrome....weird ,but I still think this has everything to do with how bad our coaching system is,were literally watching a team and coach hopefully develop ....thanks for making our rebuild probably last twice as long if at all Jeff/Kent

Koivu was all heart though. Nothing would have stopped him from going through a wall. Dach doesn’t seem to have much heart

MSL seems happy with the effort after the game, I personnely don't think they played a good game yesterday

A good start that lasted about 10 min and a good last 5 min or so that's what i saw.

We're so use to mediocraty that even the Coach is happy when we don't get blown out of a game, participation ribbons seems to be our goals now.

Funny to see the PGT up to 5 pages the morning following a game, disinteresment of the fan base is probably the biggest achievement of this management so far.

Can't wait to the end of the season to see who we gonna get in the draft.....that's the state of Habs fan now......so so sad.

Yeah, his questions were so stupid. I laughed so hard at the Reinbacher on. “What would you do if someone cutoff an old lady at an atm”, ffs.

What the hell do you think any kid would say!! Took a phd to come up with that doozy, lol.

Most definitely. I also think one of the big issues is that it seems they only have one option to exit the zone and it's off the boards or a pass to the winger on the boards. Every team in the NHL knows this and they just overload the boards. MSL needs to have them practice a second option so they can adjust mid game.

They also can't handle a heavy forecheck at all, which doesn't help the breakout

While I agree that a solid defender (especially on the right) would be really helpful, the biggest problem right now is that the top 6 only has 2 top 6 players. Our “second line” is objectively worse than our 4th line. It is terrible. These guys are supposed to be important parts of our core going forward and they are playing like plugs. As a result of these guys being the jewels of the new management, there is next to no accountability for this play. Our “second line Center” has 9 points and is -21 after 30 games! Suzuki is +1 with the same defense. Evans is -4 with d-zone starts and the same defense. There is a big fat hole in our lineup and it couldn’t be more obvious if it came in with a marching band.

As someone who had to take a bunch of psychology and philosophy courses for his degree, let me tell you 99% of psychologists and philosophers are batshit insane and have no idea what they're talking about.

They're like robots/AI attempting to interact with human beings lol

I actually forgot they were playing and it's a flipping Saturday night.

That means:

1) my interest in day to day game watching has hit an all time low

2) senility is finally knocking on the door
