He isn't done... Him and Newhook are 3rd line players used as top 6 players. It sucks, but what is done is done. You need solid 3rd line players down the road, we have some, now acquire a top center that's a 1 or 2
Newhook and Dach are not even playing as a good 3rd liners to begin with. It's that bad. Josh Anderson is playing like a 3rd liner but overpaid.

This one always cracks me up.
I remember saying Ducharme is coaching like a deer in headlights in the GDT and you came up with this.

Newhook has played very well since getting away from Dach. He wasn’t rewarded for it but his play has been strong.

Dach… man. So disappointing. We clearly counted on him too much.

I know everyone hears hates McGuire and Marinaro and think they are a joke... I never really followed any of them really, but listening to their conversation now on Marinaro's podcast, I can't find anything they say to be not true or inaccurate.

To think that they made this huge deal about not wanting to lose him to waivers last season and forced a 3-goalie system, all for what?
He played well.

Honestly, at one point we were talking about if he could make a run for Montie’s job. I know people have forgotten that but it’s true. He did a bang up job last season.

Now he looks like a guy we picked up on waivers. And it’s not surprising. Remember Niemi? Had a nice run relieving Price one year and crashed the next. That’s the nature of most backup goalies.

I’m all in favour of replacing him btw. He’s been brutal.

Are there any Marty Saint John defenders left?

If so, why?

I understand that you can’t make chicken soup out of chicken shit, but you could try to improve the flavour slightly.

Watching this guy make mistake after mistake, being completely outclassed and out coached every game isn’t funny anymore. At some point, even the bosses that gave him carte Blanche have to hold him to account, don’t they?

His love affair with Mike Matheson is Therrien-esque, reminiscent of the better forgotten David Desharnais dog days of not so long ago. He keeps trying to push the round peg that is Matheson into the square hole that is the number one defenseman spot… and it’s not a fit. Nor will it ever be.

Marty Saint John is one of many in the long line of great hockey players that do not have the ability to coach the game. You shouldn’t be regressing so dramatically, in your third year of the rebuilding process. But here we are.

The Alex Newhook no assist season lives on! The only positive I can take from tonight’s debacle. The poor guy would probably dial 912 in an emergency, just so he couldn’t get any assistance.
