There is no way CGY makes the playoffs this year let's root for them because they will go down fast in 2025

Theres a way, if the Bruins don't make it in the East, a team shittier than the Flames will make it.

If they do it would still be a better pick than Florida and that's all I'm aiming for. Can put us in the Hage range before even attempting to slide up the draft board.

True, CGY can make it, I would be extremely surprised tho, as a wild card and an early exit playoffs, a 16-18th pick is still very good for a cap dump (monahan) it would remind me the Marleau trade to CAR, could land a Jarvis type of player with a 16th-18th we never know

Yeah. The only thing i want from them is being in a WC spot or in contention for one coming trade deadline so they don't go full selling mode.

I got super invested 2 years ago only to be rewarded with Newhook.
Let's say I am not holding my breath this year.

Here are some prospects we could have in our fold, had the Pens been worth a darn for one game:
Yager, Wood, Honzek, Sale, Perreault, Musty, Ritchie.
Man, that is yell-in-a-pillow bad luck.

Edit: Michkov - ok I'll see myself out

When's the last time a team made the playoffs with its leading scorer on pace for 49 points in an 82-game season? They do have depth and work hard as a team, but it's largely the play of Wolf, and I have my doubts that he keeps this up all year. We need to hope that they get as many points as possible for the time being.

That's a good question...I know the Habs made the playoffs in the 2010-2011 season with Plekanec as the leading scorer with only 57 points. The second leading scorer was Cammalleri with only 47 points.

in all seriousness so far so good. We avoided worst case scenario which is bottom 5 to 10.

Now even if they make the playoffs the pick will be in the 17 range. So we're looking anywhere between 12 and 18 for now

At least we got Hage last year with a package of the late 1st.

Let's hope HuGo have found their groove with the late 1sts, after Mesar and Newhook. Though even those two have a lot of hockey left to have their say.
