Catered to Torts.I would've done Hoglander & a pick for Farabee. I think he's got real potential as a top 6 FWD, and still only 24.
Getting him & Frost for that seems great for the Flames. Pelletier isn't bad but was on waivers & hasn't really established himself. How do they move that package of younger players & not atleast prioritize a 1st?
They could have picked kuzmenko up for a 3rd, or probably less, and gotten a much better return for Farabee and Frost.I like this trade on the Flyers side. Farabee and Frost were going nowhere fast on the Flyers. Getting Kuzmenko to be on a line with Michkov is brilliant!
He has 6 points in his last 8 games. He's definitely been taking off since being brought back up. GM's were sleeping when he was on waiversI would've done Hoglander & a pick for Farabee. I think he's got real potential as a top 6 FWD, and still only 24.

The good thing for the flames is that this is a move for the present and future. They could do a full 5 year rebuild and Frost/Farabee would still be in their primes.Slightly underwhelming from when the news started trickling out at first. Cool that Flames are going for it a bit, and the Flyers will have plenty of cap to work with beginning in the offseason. Wonder what the picks involved are. Pelletier is a nice piece, Kuzmenko will be interesting. Frost is a really good buy-low candidate, you could feel it coming. Farabee being that young with a solid track record doesn't make 5 mil seem so bad, especially with the cap going up.
pretty big risk for the flames taking on farabee but the flyers will have a lot of cap maybe to take a run at Marner or Rantanen.
Flames have so much cap it hardly matters. With cap going up, we're unlikely to be able to spend it allNot a bad contract at all. So it’s not a risk.
Easy win for Calgary

And how does that idea make more sense than clearing cap for July 1?
I still don’t get it for the Flyers, even with them getting a 2nd back.
Ehh what has he really done? Tank and win a trade against Kyle Dubas? I don't think he's done enough to say one way or anotherAs things go, Grier it's starting to look pretty good
