I mean it happens. Any step back will look bad when you are that age and in such a competitive league. I think he just isn't the player he was when he got here. All the more reason I wish we'd been more aggressive in moving him if it was possible (which tbf we don't know if it was, but frankly it all goes back to signing him to awful term to begin with).Insane how arguably the best forward on this team last year has fallen so quickly to the worst this season.
They've tried every Huberdeau combo ever. I don't think they'd work because neither of them can skate the puck up all that well. At some point, you just have to accept that a high-maintenance player is just that and try to make due with the best of imperfection because nobody plays well with them.Only thing I have to say at this moment is we really need to mix up these forward lines. They are generating next to nothing. Detroit game, nothing, this game, nothing.
If Huberdeau is a playmaker, and Kuzmenko is a goal scorer, well, why not give that a shot?
Youth line could be nice. Zary with Popsicle and Coronato.
Or, we can just stick to this and generate nothing. I guess that's why I'm not an NHL coach.
