They usually send a B or C team to those kind of tournaments but often still end up winning. I guess it depends on how strong Sweden or Finland are.

Switzerland has a pretty decent 06' group. No surefire star-prospect but pretty good depth for our standards and a few intriguing players with upside.

They usually lose to at least one of Sweden/Czechia/Russia.

Can't remember when their last loss to Finland was.

Of the guys born in 2006 playing in North America, you can keep in mind such players as Sedláček and Fischer, from European you can also consider: Vilém, Švec, P. Král...

Players to watch are Ustinkov, Reber and Forget. I think the forwards are even decently positioned to make the the next WJC20 roster if they continue to progress nicely. Ustinkov is probably up against it because competition is gonna be much tougher on defense. The youngest player on the roster, Lenny Giger, used to be hyped a lot. Though that seems to have died down a bit I'm still interested to see how he does in this tournament.

Zetterberg and Sterner, our 2 best forwards are in a bad form, 7 and 6 points in ten games, but i want them at same line cuz they have played well together in international games. Hugo Zetterlund, Engholm and Berglund are the new ones added, very deserved as they are producing many points rn. USA will own us, but we should win against the other three. Our 06 age group is very weak but cmon we are a hockey nation :)

The fact that Jecho no longer even plays for the U18 is interesting. While he played for her last season at HGC.. It's a bit of a let down given the hype he got. But it is not a surprise given his playing in the national team.

Agree, when he made the Hlinka squad in his U16 season I figured he must really be something. Still a good prospect, but he hasn't made much progress this season.
I wouldn't mind him gettting one more shot with the U18 squad though, with one or two exceptions, whenever he played up a category he got buried on the 4th/3rd line, I would like to see him get put in a scoring position.

Marila and Soini out for Finns.. not alot high end prospects this team since most in U18.
Rimpinen, Nykyri, Suoniemi, Saarelainen and Paqvalin the most interesting ones

An injection of 07's would do very well for Sweden. Primarily Ekberg, Frondell, Ihs Wozniak, & Boumedienne(Adding Bodin on defense would bring that up too).

I really like this class. There is no Meier or Fiala level talent in the group but its actually a very deep birth year for our more recent standards. It seems like even the players fielded on the bottom pairings/lines could have had a top 6/4 role on another birth year like 04 or 05. As for the players: A year ago I liked Reber the most, by far. Very complete and fluid skater with excellent vision that has also a good two way game and a great compete level. I feel like his development slowed down a little though and he seemed to struggle a bit more to make game breaking plays in U17 than in U16. In the most recent games I saw from this team I liked Ustinkov the most. Especially his edgework and hands stood out to me wich he could use effectively even at high speed. He also seemed very calm under pressure. I don't remember much about Giger in the games I saw but I will keep an eye out for him this time.
 
I dont understand why they always play Teshome in bottom role these kind of tournaments.. he is clearly talented than most
 
Ruohonens 3rd line been Finlands best today... Saarelainen been rather quiet and Suoniemi dissapointing season continues. Lots of powerplays for Finns but 1st unit run by Välilä and Sinivuori for whatever reason isnt very good.

Adam Benak - wow an '07? Tremendous skill
Adam Veselsky - doesn't seem to be on any scouting list, but has a rip. Kid can shoot the puck. Feel like he didn't play much.

Finland
Akseli Pulkkanen - composed, heads up player, good skill
Arttu Valila - good puckmover

Swiss
Jamiro Reber - hands and shiftiness reminded me of Gaudreau. Someone to watch going forward
Nils Wehrli - great skater

Sweden
Max Vilen - size/skating combo
Adam Hesselvall - liked his skill
