Carl Dahlstrom signed with Farjsted BK of the SHL this off-season, so comes off our list with Seattle's Gustav Olofsson stepping into the top 5 instead. And Andreas Englund signed with Los Angeles as a free agent this season, leaving Chicago.

Of our starting Top 5, only Urho Vaakainen (ANA) and Andreas Englund (LAK) made their teams' opening night roster, so expect those two to either crack their goose egg or climb the list a little faster than the others.


Just off the board is Toronto's William Lagesson at 60GP, to start the season, though he did not make his team's opening roster. The player closest on deck and on an active NHL roster to start the season is Edmonton's 7th place Markus Niemelainen, with 43GP.
