Fire Steve Briere (Goalie Coach)

I'm a bit out of date now when it comes to what goalie coach is where, I don't have the time I did a year or two ago to keep up lol.

I don't know of a site that shows strictly goalie coaches, but I've always used elite prospects for in depth looks at organizational trees and rosters. You can search individual teams, see their staff, and also track individual staff members entire careers (as well as players).

Letting Piero Greco go was a huge mistake. Guy turns average goalies into great goalies.

I haven't really seen Briere have a positive influence on any goaltender here.

I feel like Mitch Korn gets a lot of the credit Piero Greco should instead. Since his days in junior he's never had a goaltender under a league average SV% and seems to pull great years out of average goalies year after year.

He's had some good ones like Gibson, but he's also made guys like Sparks look like world beaters.

Real fan’s don’t leave a team because they don’t like the management structure. The team will be around longer than Dubas and Co. You seem like one of those fans that cheer and applaud for everything your favourite team does because you can’t form an educated opinion on your own.

The best Dman on this team has always been Mo and YES, it is Dubas fault that he wasted another year of a contender window with 2 bad options in net. Players performance reflects on the GM that put them in place.

Pretty ironic I'm a guy who can't form an educated opinion when I'm arguing a guy who thinks our best defenseman has been Rielly the last few years. The same guy who has been getting caved in defensively, the offense regressed, and the production slowed down over Muzzin, a guy who was dominant in both ends playing top-pairing comp while having similar non-PP production. Not to say Rielly hasn't been our best one this season (he probably has when context is taken into account), but losing good Muzzin hurts this team more than it does Rielly.

All you Dubas haters are the same. No matter the good shit he does for this team he's to blame for the players not showing up in the playoffs or because you think the players he brings in are too soft or small. Nobody is perfect but he's batting a lot higher than virtually any GM out there and it's so exhausting having guys like you in the fanbase.

This is a goalie coach thread though, so I'm done talking about it. You can go speak your [nonsensical] piece in the KD thread.

I don't agree with Imoo with anything he said but conversely what we are saying is if you don't agree with what I agree with you don't have the right to have a job?

What Imoo said on his Twitter was dirt stupid, like epically stupid. Is the penalty of speech, not having the right to provide a living for your family? Wouldn't the better approach be to show tolerance , allow him to speak his mind and have an honest and mature discussion about why only uneducated idiots speak like that? Teach a man how to fish ... ?
 
We changed the special teams coach and look how much of a difference it's had on the team. Why not replace this guy, it's not like we got results with him ? He was a bad candidate for the job to begin with. Now i'm not blaming him for Soup/Mrazek letting in weak floaters, any goalie should have those but overall in his time here has he really helped our goaltenders at all ?

I guess a coach is there to help a goalie find what is the root cause of the slump, usually its correctable. If a coach cant help you be better , why have a coach?

I think now that we are entering month 4 of this "slump" can we really call it a slump? If you perform a certain way for the vast majority of the season, is it a slump?

Sparky hasn't pooed in a day, should I got tothe Dr? ..Day 2 no poo.. what to do? TBH I have twitter (which I rarely use) and that is it, I got a life that does not require my constant focus on social media. TBH when is see these poor attention hungry narcissist on Tik Toc or other Social Media platforms, look at me I'm special ... I feel sorry for them...

I'm saying that if you want to spout hate speech or amplify it, you shouldn't be surprised when people don't want to be associated with you.

Briere is a HYBRID technique butterfly drop tender instructor correct? That is what I have heard .. if he is replaced I guess we would hire another guy with same technique approach? Can you even find stand up guys anymore? OR is his issue on people side?

This statement here just reinforces why North America is so toxic. Just because someone doesn't have social media doesn't mean they are a bad person or anything else along that spectrum. Also deleting social media accounts doesn't automatically mean someone has somthing to hide. People have rights and freedoms, grow up.

The Leafs should’ve fired Briere a long time ago…. He is bad at his job

As for Imoo, I don’t trust people who fail vet their social media, regardless of my stance on his political/social beliefs (I disagree with him btw). To me it just shows total unawareness and lack of attention to detail.
