Reichel has 10 points and is a team worst -28 (2nd worst in the league).

I think it's not the wrong call to sit him after giving him chance after chance (2nd most games played for the Hawks this season). Maybe it's Reichel?

It was downhill with Reichel the moment they groves him to be a center a quarter of the season and refused to make any changes when you can tell by game 5 it wasn’t going to work.

Dude needed to be sent to Rockford a while ago zero confidence now

Maybe Reichel isn't that player? He scored in the AHL and was a good third wheel on his line in Germany.

He could work as that in the NHL on a team that is already clicking. The way he is playing this season is not doing him any favors.

Richardson is right to send another message to him by not dressing him. Even if it means watching more of Entwistle.

22 road losses in a row.

Glad Richardson is holding players accountable.

Nothing like a culture of excuses for keeping somebody around to build a champion around.

honestly at this point i want him to be fired just so nothing changes, but none of you learn anything so we can have another two seasons of yelling that the new guy should be fired.

Lol another gem of a post. Who exactly would they hold accountable? Bring up another garbage AHL player to fill in for the garbage they are taking out? Makes sense.

Well, Tinordi, for one. What message do you think it sends to Philips when he's watching that f***ing useless asshole every game from the pressbox?
lol all Phillips should be doing is saving as much NHL money as he can while it lasts...

Probably tells him that he also needs to stop being a useless plug.
I mean... do you think Tinordi should even be on an NHL roster, let alone playing over Phillips? I'd take any guy they've had in the press box, or down in the AHL, over Tinordi.

He's 22... A lot of people on here were saying the same shit about Vlasic last year, eh? How'd that turn out?

Would love for Phillips to get better. I think he’s probably a bottom pair ceiling guy.

derek king would do a better job than luke richardson he's some one they should of never ever hired in the first place

Interesting comments from LR this morning on Tocchet:

Said Richardson: “He’s coaching just the way he played. The [Canucks] play a ferocious, offensive, forechecking, attack game. ... He’s such a great motivator and he’s always excited — he’s got a lot of energy when he comes to the rink. That festers right into the team, and they look like they’ve been transformed.”

LR is the complete opposite and so are the results (of course lack of on ice talent major factor).
luke richardson is a terrible coach he's a block head

Rules for thee not for me. That pisses me off so bad about Luke. Reichel and Korchinski have gotten so much shit from Luke in interviews whenever they make mistakes. Whether it’s deserved or not doesn’t matter, because it’s not equal.

Where is the grief for Tyler Johnson who’s been trash all year? Why hasn’t Raddysh sat games for being worthless? Why is Seth Jones not called out for his boneheaded plays? Why is Tinordi not being called out for being lost?

Imagine being a kid on this team, getting shit for everything, but surrounded by guys who do the exact same thing and avoid all criticism. That’s what pisses me off, and that how I know Luke doesn’t care about accountability. He just wants to torture the young guys because that’s how he came up.

No. But I also don't think he is even in the discussion when talking about accountability. He's an AHLer, like everyone else pretty much, so him being out of the line up wouldn't send a msg to anybody.

He should be playing over Tinordi and there's no logical argument otherwise.
Did I say he shouldn't be? No.

He's not a guy that you bench to show accountability. you would be benching a player that shouldn't be in the NHL anyway, so what's the point? It doesn't show accountability to anyone in the lineup, everyone knows he sucks anyway.

This is absolute nonsense. Playing Philips over Tinordi sends the message that being a veteran doesn't grant you immunity from being benched for being f***ing terrible.

It's pretty clear you won't agree with any criticism of Richardson whatsoever, so I'm done bothering.

Its not nonsense. No one cares if Tinordi is in the lineup or not, in the dressing room. Now if you benched Seth Jones, that would send a msg, but you cant because youre replacing him with a Tinordi or a Phillips, which is laughable.

It's hard to agree on coaching being a problem when the entire team is a dumpster fire. You're throwing shit at a wall and hoping it sticks. He has his warts, but to completely dismiss his ability as a coach is a take, especially with this roster. I could care less about who the coach is at this point, to be honest.

Don't see an argument either. It's just that there is no talent and you would replace AHL players with other AHL players.
Richardson is here until this team needs a real coach.

It was sarcasm. It's a joke if Richardson benches players. Perception rules the day when things are toxic "who is this guy to bench so-and-so".

KD letting a record loser stay on the bench and expecting to build a winning culture is ridiculous.

Colliton was bad, but I never thought a replacement would necessarily be better. For all his faults you knew he was sticking to seeing (or gaining) data on what worked and didn't so they could build on something or change direction with a clear vision.

Something was going to be helpful out of him behind the bench. In his case he proved alot of things wouldn't work. Richardson doesn't even give things a chance to fail outright so there's all sorts of nonsense to pick through.

If a coach doesn't have 4 right shooters on the pp for 2 months, I'll give him the rest of the year before declaring him bad...unless he goes for some brutally bad NHL record.

So how are things worse with Richardson than without?

There was always the "lower floor" thing with Colliton and even King. I can't find anything with Richardson. Danny doesn't care about the money given the contracts he just let fly.
