Ummmmm puck movement but not in finding opening. Latvia cleared a few times...then Finland got a penalty themselves that nullified 5 on 3 so they were only 5 on 3 for about a minute and a half

Juolevi seems rather useless on power play if I'm being honest. Makes bad passes and doesn't shoot from one timers. Only makes passes and most of those passes aren't good. Need to keep it more simple but Juolevi plays like some guy who played on Euro size rink the whole season or maybe his confidence is gone, dunno.

"You have it!"

"NO! You have it!"

(Bargaining for the win)

Not true, FIN simply doesn't give a ****, while LV is less talented but are trying to do what they can. Saying LV doesn't want to win this game is ignorant. There's only so much you can do if you're considerably less skilled/talented.

I see, the question that comes into mind is how you get a penalty during a 5on3 like that? :amazed:

This tournament has been beyond humiliating. And to think that people were talking about a golden generation a year ago...

WJC you can't have "generations." At best you get players in a 2 year window. And players like Aho, Laine, Puljujärvi are all in the NHL now.

Finland will have a beast of a National team for years to come. But right now their junior ranks were hollowed out by maturation and the NHL picking up the finnish's best young stars.

The Golden generation for the Fins will be at the next few international mens competitions like the World Championships, World Cup of Hockey, and Olympics.

Bjoerkvist kid should prolly have been the captain C of this bunch of jolly good fellas.

Juolevi plays for the London Knights(OHL) in the Canadian Junior Leagues. Which is a good team that churns out a lot of good NHL defensemen.

They lost the puck. Latvian player started to skate out the zone and Finn tried to impend...it was very much an "international" slashing call though.

Those of you finns that are still awake to watch relegation game 2 at this time of the night in the middle of the week (isn´t it like 2 AM for you over there now?) and still finding motivation to talk about the game here after having witnessed your perhaps worst junior performance ever (not sure about the whole history here) are true supporters I must say. Great spirit.

This is really an unbelievably bad Finnish team. They are very bad with their intensity, skating and shooting, which are probably all the most important aspects in modern hockey. Especially the softness and extreme lack of intensity are so obvious and they lead into Finland having huge problems in getting real quality scoring chances and even keeping the control of the game.

Is it individual personality issues with so many players, or is it about extremely badly failed preparing the team this season by the first coach Rautakorpi? Probably a bit of both. I just can't give any blame to Ahokas, as he had so little time to change the horrible course that the team had already taken. Just one of the worst messes in Finnish hockey ever, if not the worst. :shakehead

Yeah I'm aware but Juolevi hasn't been good on PP now. His status doesn't make him play good on PP.

I must say these are not Lions, they don't play with heart, will and soul. They just want the tournament to end. I've never seen anything like this from a Finnish team ever. I am very sad and disappointed. Where is the will to play for your country, do they really want to do this?

I think we just want to see how this story ends. Good or bad because we haven't witnessed anything like this before. It will be remembered for years to come. That's for sure.

Good to also remember that Ahokas had no say for the team/players selection for the tournament.

2 early goals into the third period making it 3-1 has probably decided it now.
Welcome back to the A division next year again Finland. Latvia will probably get back up soon again.
