1999 November born, so turns 22 way later this year, has 176 pro games under his belt (every game counted for)
(NHL, AHL, Czech Extra League)

He was drafted 6th overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft and he has not yet acquired top 6 spot
from Detroit Red Wings line up, we are talking about the Red Wings, the worst team in the league.

Elite Prospects - NHL Entry Draft 2018

9 goals, 11 assists in 41 NHL so far.

Where do people think, Wings and hockey fans, where he is at, potential, development wise?.

| and people - remember - this is not a Kotkaniemi vs Zadina thread |

nobody ever expected KK to be a game changer, just a very solid 1 or 2 c, à la Towes pré-suckage.

also:
I did not mean to compare the 2 players, I just used KK as a reference to show how young players can change /improve over a short period of time.

Most of us Wings fans are very excited about him and he had to earn that excitement back after his D+1 season.

Zadina is a completely different player than when he first joined the organization. He's not some one-way sniper type winger, he competes all over the ice and has elite skill to go along with it. Where he ends up depends on how far he can take his hockey iq and skating ability.

And stats are not going to tell the story right now for him considering he's being centered by Valteri Filppula and receiving stretch passes from Marc Staal.

I love his game. His creativity and takeaway ability reminds me of Datsyuk. No I am not saying he is or ever will be Datsyuk before someone jumps down my throat. I think he’ll be a legit 1st liner and the type of winger who can carry a second line.

I still think he'll end up somewhere between 25-35 goals and 25-30 assist player at his peak, which is still pretty good for a 6th overall. Not necessarily the player you need up the middle (defense or Center) you need to start competing a secondary piece to the main core if that makes senese? (not chirping fwiw still think he'll be viewed as a good pick when we reflect)

Detroit Redwings and Quinn Hughes

Quinn Hughes pre draft

University of Michigan - check
USANDTP based in Plymouth Michigan - Check
USA world championship team coached by Jeff Blashill - check
Roommate during World Chanpionship was Dylan Larkin - check

Ken Holland - We drafting Zadina !

Ironically , Holland wanted Bouchard but couldn’t pass on a dropping Zadina. Holland now in Edmonton with Bouchard who can’t get into the lineup even though Edmonton has one of the weakest Defence in the league.

I will forever thank Detroit for handing Vancouver a generational defenceman.

he's young and drafted into an org in a full teardown rebuild...give it time before writting him off, let yzerman surround that core with more talent first
