Organizational mouthpiece Bruce Garrioch has said a couple times that he expects Gustavsson to be the odd man out in Ottawa's crease next year and, given that he will require waivers, he suspects Ottawa will try to trade him.

Would anyone give up anything of value for Goose this offseason? My guess would be his value is a 4th or a young player in a similar situation from the '16 or '17 draft

Would hope they opt for finding a way to offload Murray in the summer and run Forsberg/Gustavsson next year. Forsberg being actually good has made this situation a lot trickier.

If we're able to offload Murray, I'd look to immediately find an NHL goalie.

I know his circumstances haven't been ideal at times, but Gustavsson's NHL performance this season is one of the worst by any goalie in the last 20 years. His single season SVP ranks 644th out of 663 goalies with 15+ games played in a season. No way we can go into next year counting on him.

As much as I dont trust Murrays health, I do trust that he can provide decent goaltending when healthy. Goose? Not so much. He needs to go to a team that can afford to roll the dice on goaltending next season and I dont think we have that luxury.
