You feel like you got embarrassed? Let me help you with that Big Z, you DID get embarrassed.

So when you have Chara, Bergeron, Marchand, Krejci, Rask making observations about not showing up, are they absolving themselves and implying that 2/3 of the team didn't show up? Or are they putting themselves in the same boat as the entire team?

Looch used to be great at this last season btw. I still remember when he'd recite all the perfect clichés after a loss, but yet his efforts were never a reflection of his words.

It's official vent day.

Maybe they did this to honor his return to Boston?

"But the Bruins are smaller, less colorful, and not as fun to watch without Lucic’s kettle threatening to bubble over on any shift."

so true...sigh.

I'm guilty of buying the fools gold they were selling at the beginning of the season. Granted, I think Sweeney has done a decent job so far restocking the prospect pool..which he must continue to do...clearing cap space, and getting some youth on the roster. Remains to be seen if he can build on trade deadline and draft day.

However, all that talk about "creating anxiety" for the other team, playing more uptempo, faster breakouts. It was all ********. It lasted all of 2 weeks, with a couple 4-5 game stretches of inspired play. What I see is the same listless, emotionless, leaderless team I did last year. Only now we have the "young guys" to throw under bus.

I expected a semi-rough season, scratching and clawing to make it into the playoffs, and I thought they would probably get in. They still might. But I was expecting a scrappy team along the lines of the 2007-08 squad. They are FAR from it.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news and shine sun on all of your cloudy days but this team is on pace for 96 points. I know it feels like we are the Oilers this morning but we aren't. We're 5 points behind the Kings for crying out loud.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not optimistic about this team at all and never have been. But for the defensive roster they scoop off the street and throw on the ice every night, a 96 point pace is pretty damn good.

It's good to remember this. I find myself wanting to complain, but somehow they've managed to stay in contention here with a scrap heap of so and so's. I think seeing Lucic this week reminded me of what we had here for awhile.

Bingo . Team is boring as ****.

When Lucic was "on" he was a force. However, when you get paid $6m per, you need to show up consistently, something he did with less and less frequency the last few years.

Of course, after he gets traded, people tend to forget all about the nights he was MIA and the dumb penalties...

That's how it typically works.
