Awesome video. I liked Holland comparing him to Vladdy. Konstantinov was a monster and I think the better hitter, but they both play(ed) a big game.
This is my favorite Kronwall vid of all time though. It's a top 10, but it also shows ~7 of other Kronwall hits
Konstatinov was the better player, but not the better hitter.
Kronwall is one of a kind.
Some of those hits make me cringe. I think they are legal and clean. But when I see a guy clearly knocked out, I can't help but wonder what long term damage that's going to cause.
I guess it keeps them on their toes though. And more worried about getting hit than making the right play. That's good.
Konstantinov was more physical across the board, I think even with Vladdy's big ones don't happen as often or with the same dear God factor of Kronwalls.
Players who don't keep their head up are a dime a dozen. Who cares about their long term health

Vladdy was WAY more physical than Kronwall, and far more consistently. He was cleaning guys' clocks in all 3 zones; opposing forwards just have to clear the red line with Kronner and they're safe. This current D-corps could REALLY use a guy with his hitting ability and mean streak.
Kronwall really only catches guys once every 5-7 games (or so it seems to me, anyway) and basically delivers no meaningful hits apart from his highlight reel shots, so I don't consider him a physical defenseman for the most part. He's like an MLB'er who only averages about 8 HR's a season, but half of those are tape measure shots to the upper deck- ideal for a Sportscenter highlight, but not really a true representation of him as a player.

Nice. Thanks for posting it.
I loved when the fans chanted "you got Kronwalled" at the Joe.
BTW, why do the fans chant Todd Bertuzzi? Why is he so loved by the fans?
Thanks for explaining it. I Wonder if it because the fans want a Power forward. We have Franzen is a very light Power forward/Sniper. But he is neither a true PW nor sniper.Bertuzzi's a blue collar player and Detroit and the state of Michigan is a blue collar place. Like his hard work and grit that he brings. Over the past year though, he hasn't really been a lot, but mostly due to injury
You are right. It would be real stupid if they chanted "you got Kronwalled" when someone injured. I really hope it does not happen.I just want to say the "you got Kronwalled" chant really worries me and I hope it doesn't become a trend. I was at that game, and it was awesome, but only because the guy didn't actually get hurt. I really hope our fans are smart enough to not do it when a guy is laying out on the ice unconscious, but with any large group of people, you can not expect em to do the smart thing
I HIGHLY doubt fans would chant "you got Kronwalled" if someone was laying on the ice, injured. Detroit is a pretty classy place. We don't have any ******** chants like Nashville's "You suck!" or even Chicago's "Detroit sucks!". I don't think we've ever cheered when someone got injured.
Unless it's Crosby. I think Detroit hates Crosby.
