Now before I begin, I KNOW this is 100% NEVER going to happen. This is PURE FANTASY.

Now that I've hopefully protected myself from the posters that think proposals here actually mean something, I came up with a crazy scenario that would benefit all 3 teams if Quick is out for awhile. Reason I post this knowing it'll never happen? To see if fans would do this to benefit their team in a fantasy world.

This would be 3 separate trades that would save Winnipeg real dollars, Vancouver real dollars and cap space, and cost the Kings 1M in cap space when healthy.

First trade:

To Van:
Ondrej Pavalec

Cap in: 3.9M
Cap out: 6M

To Win:
Ryan Miller

Cap in: 6M
Cap out: 2.95M (Pavalec burried)

Trade 2 follows immediately:

To LA:
Ryan Miller (50% retained)

Cap in: 3M
Cap out: 0

To Win:
Future Considerations

Cap out: 3M
Cap in: 0

At this point Winnipeg has lost 100k cap space but saved 900k in salary as they are on the hook for Miller's 3M retainment but got out of 3.9M with Pavalec

Trade 3 is when Quick is ready to come back:

To LA:
Ondrej Pavalec (50% retained = 1.95M; buried in minors)

Cap in: 1M
Cap out: 3M

To Van:
Ryan Miller
3rd round pick 2017

Cap in: 3M
Cap out 1.95M

Canucks pickup a 3rd for renting Miller out to the Kings while downgrading to Pavalec in that time. For their cap hit, 3M for Miller, 1.95M for Pavalec's retainment which is a total of 4.95M. They save 1.05M in cap space and real dollars.

Pavalec gets buried in the minors by LA. If he goes unclaimed that costs the Kings 1M in cap space, 1.95M in real dollars along with the 3rd round pick for renting Miller. I think they'd be hard press to get a on par or better goalie (Miller) to replace Quick and be left with such a small cap hit after.

Winipeg gets nothing in this deal besides the fact they get a 3M cap hit instead of 2.95M. For this they save in real dollars as they only pay 3M to Miller instead of 3.9M to Pavs. Seeing how they have 9M in cap space, I'm sure they don't mind losing 100k in space for 900k in real money.

Nah, lets just ride the Zatkoff/ Budaj train and see where that takes us. La is unlikely to want to wear 1mill cap hit and a 3rd round pick for the rental of miller.

Removing Miller for Pavs is not a net gain. This is an absolutely horridly stupid idea. No thought process at all into needs or value here.

Honestly you should hang yours in shame, he claimed this was purely fantasy, these trade boards always have trade proposals that will never happen. Stupid threads or not they generate conversation, you shouldn't get so worked up offer a thread to the point of telling someone to hang their head in shame.

calm down like I said, pure fantasy move, obvious that something like this would never ever happen irl.

Are you one of those fans the buys the mantra that Benning and Co are trying to sell that Miller is better than Marky and we are a playoff team? If not how is picking up a 3rd round pick, for having a short term worse backup along with picking up 1.05M in cap space and saving the owners 1.05M a bad thing for the Canucks?
