everyone watching and in attendance tomorrow night, pay extra attention to the LA bench when they show it on TV. those in attendance can really watch more closely and can get a better overall viewpoint.

watch the interaction and body language of the players and coaches. yesterday was the first time i started watching this closely. try get a read and feel for what is happening, when the coaches and players are interacting.

i am interested to hear what others see and what your opinion is.

I have some thoughts and theories but I think that tomorrow is a good time to see them on display. That is, to see if some of the tendencies/body language carries over.

Maybe it's just me or maybe it's the camera work done by FSW, but I haven't seen DS go off on his players on the bench this season. He just makes his Sutter faces and nothing else. I really feel he needs to lay into everybody during the game if(more like when) we get off to a bad start tomorrow.

He's not Tortorella or Keenan and I'm glad for that.

Just sounds like another thing for fans to overreact about imo.

I met Sutter at Tip-A-King on Saturday. For what it's worth, when I thanked him for finally bringing the Cup to LA, he immediately changed the subject to how they can't score any goals right now. So it is definitely at the top of his mind. He was cool to talk to though, which I wasn't necessarily expecting based on some of his press conferences.

Will this observation be compared to anything else? Like interactions when the Kings are winning? Or is it just going to be taken within the context of the last 20 games, more specifically the last 9 games, and broken down even further into the last 6 games where absolutely nothing is working or going their way?

i dont have tape to review so no.

what it can begin to tell us though is if this is still a team willing to fight, or if they are quitting on a coach.

Saturday's game i kept watching the bench anytime it was shown on TV, including when it was just in the background as play went past. there were a few things i noticed that i didn't like to see. it was one game and only a few situations, to small of a sample size. i won't add anything further.

i want you to watch, observe and come to your own conclusions.

I don't often buy into this 'quitting on the coach' concept, I kinda find it to be BS. These guys are professional athletes who get paid MILLIONS of dollars. Win or lose, they get to play a game for living and get paid handsomely to do it. Not to mention, this is the same coach that brought them a Stanley Cup on top of it all.....so I find this idea to be ridiculous and ********, to be honest.

Sure, you might have some players who wish they had more playing time or might not agree with everything the coach does, but 'quit' on them? Most hockey players don't quit....that's the beauty of these specific athletes.

I think we found something that Payne might be good at... He's sure not doing his job elsewhere...

This is all between the ears stuff they need to work through, and unfortunately goal scoring droughts feed on themselves.

It has **** all to do with Sutter. The team has it right when they say it is something they need to work through. If Dean wants, he can shake up the chemistry if he thinks the players are "comfortable" not scoring / losing - I don't get that impression from this bunch of players and I doubt Dean does either. Of course, the risk is that jettisoning someone of impact like Brown would wind up doing more harm than good.

Fortunately they won a ton of games early to give them the time to work through this.

Funny how it was so much about DS having been able to bring the team to the "next level" when we won the Cup (something TM was not capable of doing) and now that we have a collapse ( and btw this is not just a slump but a collapse) it is all about the players and all these formulas are put in that direction. Bottom line, DS does not have it and we need a change behind the bench. Just take a look at what has happened with the Winnipeg Jets.

Winnipeg is NOT a good team. They'll be back to earth soon enough.

What do you mean? I want my coach to act like this on the bench when the opposition scores...

The nut grab at the end is the icing on the cake.

 Love Harbaugh temper tantrums. Puck, need some for the GDT!

I don't want Sutter to act like that every time, but I bet all it would take is just once. Or Brownie flipping over some tables in the locker room and smashing his stick on lockers.

A new coach wont help bad bounces and pucks hitting crossbars/posts. night in and night out im seeing plays that these guys should be scoring on but they arent. Sutter cant go out there and score himself otherwise he would, this is on the shoulders of the players 100%

The issue is not if the Jets are or are not a good team. it is obvious it would be a huge surprise to see them winning the Cup. But Maurice was able to go further than the usual spark that comes with a new head coach. He has brought much more cohesion between offense and defines on a team that was lacking since the beginning of the season.

A new Head Coach and a new group of coaches can make the difference. All this jazz about trade such and such is going no where and will do more damage than anything else to a squad that is full of talent and has talent coming up. With the team we have and the young players coming up, we should be contenders for years to come. I would not mention a dynasty because in this era of parity we will see no more of dynasties like the Oilers, the Islanders or the Habs were... But too be among the contenders, yes, this is possible and Sutter is failing, heavily and overwhelmingly F-A-I-L-I-N-G.

well per the great NHL blackout rules i had the WGN local fee here in Chicago, so i got virtually no LA bench shots.

i got P Foley and Eddie O instead of Bob and Jim.

i couldnt get a strong read the way i wanted to, so i will have to wait for the next game.

how about anyone else? your observations?
