Keith ballard 2.0?

not a good sign so far but too early to judge.

You have to start questioning the pro scoutiung on this team.

If you want my opinion I kinda thought he was overrated. In round 1 of the playoffs last year the Panthers were torching the Devils on the PP. Garisson was a big part of that. A lot of our fans were gushing over him, and wanted us to sign him this Summer.

I think he's better than he's been for you guys so far. He has been a disappointment though.

Our whole defense except Ballard and Tanev sucks. Right now Edler, Hamhuis and Bieksa's contracts all suck.

Does Hamhuis look like an elite defensive player with an above average offensive game? No. And that's exactly what he is.

Do the Sedins look like star forwards?

Does Edler and Bieksa look like cornerstones of an elite backend?

I will reserve judgement on Garrison until the 10-15 game mark. But I agree, he hasn't looked like the player i saw in Florida.

Henrik looks barely good enough to be a #2C on a bottom-feeding team right now. Why would anyone judge the new arrivals when this team's core are playing like they are?

I know it doesn't mean much, but Garrison looked extremely good in training camp.

Like others have said, give him at least 15 games to shake off the rust + learn a new system.

Yep, our window is closing fast and our defense blows chunks. Except Ballard/Tanev. We should've kept Ehrhoff. :(

I don't understand. This is nothing subnormal than every other start to the season. Our defense will be one of the best, and deepest in the NHL once we get our *** in gear. Ehrhoff would not have helped what is happening right now.

I think it's still far too early to judge. Like people have previously mentioned, he's switching conferences and learning a completely new system without the benefit of a training camp. On top of that, Edler has been an absolute disaster as well and hasn't made the transition very easy for him.

That being said, I would like to see him spend more time shooting the puck on the PP and less time roving around the front of the net. I'm not sure if this is a result of the PP system or his own fault, but it certainly isn't making very good use of his skill set.

Just admit it, despite being older Salo is a better option than Garrison.

How about we let him adjust and acclimate himself to the system and team. You also forget that there was been a long layoff in the NHL and he was coming off injury.

The same **** was said about Ballard the last two seasons and now hes starting to look like our number one 1 defenceman.

Drawing conclusions on Garrison after a handful of games where the whole team has been lacklustre is quite unfair. I'm admitting nothing until I see what Garrison can actually do with a good Canucks team. Salo likely would've been hurt for us by now anyways, it's Canucks luck.

But how long did it take Ballard to become our number one dman? He was good ever since he came back from his, "injury," last year.

Another one of MG's scams, but I actually like that cap saving LTIR placement. :naughty:

until he gets injured...
It's nice not having a man made of glass anymore, don't have to worry about him being injured all the time.

just watch, the lightning are gonna win the stanley cup with salo playing all regular season games + playoff games

I seriously don't understand canuck fans sometimes. Do you people (not you pg canuck) still consider the flyers, rangers, and predators to be three of the best teams in the nhl? Because the canucks have a better record than them right now. How about the penguins? Who only have one more win than the canucks. How about even the freaking LA Kings who admittedly won today but did so in a shootout? And have a slightly better record than the canucks. Many of the elite teams in the nhl have started the year slow. It does not mean that they all suck and that none of them will make the playoffs or compete for the cup. Jeeze people calm down.
