I don't think we've done a ranking since the draft, and we've got plenty of off-season left to kill, so might as well?

ELIGIBILITY: Using HF prospect criteria. A prospect is eligible for inclusion if--
  • He has not yet completed his age 24 season and has no more than 65 games played (skater) or 45 games played (goalie); or
  • If signed from a European league or the NCAA at age 22 or older, he has played no more than 65 games (skater) or 45 games (goalie) within 3 years of signing, regardless of age. Note: Olofsson's eligibility is based on this rule. Had Covid not cut last season short, he would've graduated out of eligibility, but, as it stands, he's got 5 games of "prospect" status remaining.

Prospects eligible to be added (let me know if you spot any I've missed or messed up the eligibility on!):
  • Forwards: Matej Pekar, Rasmus Asplund, Lukas Rousek, Matteo Constantini, Linus Weissbach, Brandon Biro, Filip Cederqvist, Brett Murray, Aaron Huglen, Jakub Konecny, Vasili Glotov, Marcus Davidsson, Dawson DiPietro, Andrew Oglevie
  • Defensemen: Oskari Laaksonen, William Borgen, Miska Kukkonen, Linus Cronholm, Albert Lyckasen, Casey Fitzgerald, Philip Nyberg, William Worge Krue
  • Goalies: Erik Portillo

I'm tentatively planning on leaving each poll open for 2 days. If there is a tie in the top 10, I'll make a run-off poll. If there's a tie outside of the top 10, I'll just let it be a tie and move on.

Easiest one, Olofsson. Add Pekar

Edit - interesting voting ...

I always vote based on a combination of ceiling and likelihood of reaching it. Olofsson is more likely since he's already produced at the NHL level, but Cozens' ceiling is higher. If we're including Olofsson, I have him at 2.

Yeah I went olofsson because of what's already been accomplished.

Old polls with armia, grigorenko, nylander, mittelstadt coming in around the top show that nothing's ever a guarantee. Not that cozens will definitely struggle as much as those guys, but it seems like sometimes ceiling is overrated in these polls

I'm voting off ceiling and potential, positional impact. I would have put Olofsson #1 but he hasn't shown me he can be as deadly even strength as he is on the powerplay.

Right now Olofsson is one dimensional in scoring and he might be at his ceiling already as a power play guy only.

I need him to make impact even strength as well which is why I don't even feel he's 2, I have Ukko there because I think he can be the next Price in his prime and be top 5 making an huger impact.

I know he technically qualifies under these rules of a prospect,

But seeing Olofsson on this list feels wrong to me.

Cozens either way. Add Laaksonen

its potential and ceiling, VO played in men leagues for some time and is 6 years older than Cozens.
He should be better.
There is no fair comparison here cause we already seen VO perform in the NHL and would there have been a full season he wouldn't be eligible here.

I guess technically according to HF rules, Olofsson is still a prospect. He's only played 60 games........but he's just not a prospect anymore in my eyes.

Voting for Cozens.

Moving to delete Olofsson and add Pekar AND Asplund.

The cut-off is arbitrary and creates weird results. It's also odd that Mittelstadt isn't considered a prospect, but making exceptions defeats the purpose of having a bright-line rule, so :dunno:

Remove Pilut while we're at it - neither are prospects.

Cozens seems to be the versatile all purpose forward, swiss knife type player
Quinn hopefully ends up a top-line winger with star-potential.
I went with the higher ceiling here.
