The Rangers are very happy to announce the re-signing of a couple of heart and soul players from this years team prior to them hitting Unrestricted Free Agency.

Brandon Prust - 4 years @ 1.5 million/season

Stu Bickel - 2 years @ .75 million/season

We feel these re-signings go a long way to adding the toughness we will be seeking this off-season as they are both warriors and can take a regular shift.

Deal with the Devils; Leafs send Lombardi to New Jersey

dynamic_resize

Toronto began moving forward with reshaping it's roster last night, agreeing to a late night trade that has sent speedy centre Matthew Lombardi to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for New Jersey's 3rd round selection in the upcoming entry draft, as well as the Leafs 4th round selection previously acquired for Dave Steckel.

"Matthew is a solid young player, but we wanted to get into the 3rd and 4th rounds in the upcoming draft and we feel we've done that now. We're happy with this move." Leafs GM TribalPhoenix stated in a release this morning.

"Given the moves we plan on making this off-season, this was a deal that needed to be made as Matthew will get a change to prove he's an impact player in the NHL. We wish him well in New Jersey."

:devils Confirm

We're looking at loosing a few key Bottom 6 forwards to FA right now, and we felt that Matthew Lombardi fills a hole in our line-up, as well as bring phenomenal speed and some scoring to our squad. Two mid-picks is a small price for us to pay at this point.

Quite a few inquiries on Kovalchuk and Parise's rights with young, ready to perform NHL goaltenders. We're taking our time with this, and more offers are welcome. Also, One of Andy Greene and Henrik Tallinder are on the Block.

Derek Roy has recieved interest from 3 teams in the Western Conference and 1 in the East, the asking price is quite high with the amount of interest recieved

Thomas Vanek has recieved some interest but not enough to seriously consider moving

Ryan Miller has been asked about and the Sabres may consering moving him if a team gives a very good piece(top line foward)

The Sabres are expected to sign a number of RFAs in the coming days

The Rangers have quite a bit of interest in both Marian Gaborik and Brandon Dubinsky. PM if you are interested. From the look of it, both players will be moved in the next day or so. Looking for a fair return in terms of young talent for both.

PENS WILL LISTEN TO MALKIN OFFERS

I want to preface this by saying if RR or IR4 decide that this is not going to happen, then I will immediately pull him off the market, but after getting some very high quality offers for Staal, Im interested in seeing what I can get for Geno.

My asking price for Staal, as those who have asked, is a package of a top 6 RW, a 1st round pick and a prospect. For Malkin, id be looking for the following:

2-3 NHL ready players (1 must be a Top 6 RW or legit NHL'er)
1-2 2012 1st round picks
1-2 prospects

Were talking about one of the 5 best players in the game here, so I will NOT be low-balled. if there are no quality offers, hell come off the market. It will be a 4 hour process.

Only 1 of Malkin or Staal will get moved
