F William Belle - Shattuck St. Mary's 16U AAA, 16U AAA (2025 Draft)

Damn - this is a kid I wanted to make a thread on once my naughty behaviour was forgiven.

He is a big strong skating power winger that has all the confidence in the world to attack opposing defenders one on one. For a big guy he has some soft hands that allow him to make some pretty nifty plays from in tight on the opposing goalie. He has a very good wrist shot for his age that is heavy and deceptive. He uses his size real well at his age but I don’t think he is one of those big guys that dominates because he is big - there is so much more to this kids game than just his size.

He reminds me a bit of recent Flyers first rounder Cutter Gauthier in a sense. I expect big things for this kid going forward - and the fact he is playing for Shattucks u16 team as an ‘07 is a testament to this.

Hope this helps!

The other 07’s on the SSM 16U team are forwards Fleece and Sawchyn (Gracyn‘s little brother) who have been two of the most hyped American 07’s for a while, defenseman Lebret and Harry Boettinger in net, also a kid that has been hyped for a while.

No guarantee that it gives you a spot on the USNTDP (see Aidan Park and Drake Murray from last years 16U) but certainly all these guys including Belle are ones to watch moving forward as guys with watch.

I don't think he has much offensive upside, but has the defensive game. Big, strong, fast, good defensively, physical. Good PK'er. Judd Caulfield is probably what we are looking at. If things go very well, John Beecher shouldn't be ruled out. He'll be a draft pick. Likely no later than middle rounds. A team could reach for him earlier though because of the size, defensive game, and skating.

6'2 216 to 6'4 219 in the preseason measurements. He's a great athlete. I think he's going to go higher than most think in the upcoming draft.
