F Tuomas Uronen - Kingston Frontenacs, OHL (2023, 192nd, VGK)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Very impressed by his game and considering how good he was considering he's an underager is good sign. I agree JJTT that his offensive ceiling is not very high, but he does so much other things that will get him noticed as a draft eligible player. First and foremost, he has a never stop engine and goes out there every shift under the premise he can be a difference maker. The next attribute I like about him is his attention to detail, he is a complete player at both ends of the ice and is always surveying where to be. I have also noticed that he is crazy good along the boards, his body and stick position is always in great position to either win the battle or at the very least, tie up an opponent for more help from teammates. That goes back to his surveying and paying to the little detail attitude. He reminds me of his countryman, Artturi Lekhonen. Might not have as good goalscoring skills than him, but I think he has a bit higher IQ for the game. I think he has the skills to be a solid two-way mid-tier player that is good along the boards and can be a top PKer.

I see this. Good skater, can make some explosive plays, pretty active and keeps his feet moving. Not sure his offensive skills are especially high end, but he should be like a second round pick and have a good chance to contribute in the NHL.

Uronen was a lot better at U18s 1 year ago than he was this year. Seems to have regressed/stagnated.

So, his numbers are quite disappointing for me considering he did get the chance to get some minutes in a pro league last year.
How has he looked for Ottawa? Is he getting minutes?

16 goals and 35 pts since coming back from world juniors (has played 18 games)

Has a ROCKET of a shot. Vegas got a steal in the 6th round for sure. Here’s his last 4 goals he has scored(in his last 3 games)

Context: Kingston down 2 goals going into the 3rd period vs Peterborough, made it 2-1 then Ethan Miedema (BUF) got a 5 minute penalty for the remaining 5 mins of the game. Uronen scores an absolute BEAUTY to tie it up shorthanded.

Second one shows off that quick release and NHL ready shot catching Ben Hrebik (one of the best goalies this year in the OHL) completely off guard. Barrie ranked in top 10 of whole CHL. Missing some players but so was Kingston.

Third and fourth one is on the goalie who likely wins Goalie Of the Year Jackson Parsons against a great Kitchener team ranked in the top 10 of the whole CHL
