Had a great game today. Created several chances and finally scored the first goal in the Extraliga. And his TOI today was higher than usual: 12:28.
He currently has 2 points in 18 games. If he scores at least 2-3 more points in the remaining games, he can be considered a stable candidate for the middle rounds. Interestingly, another candidate for the middle rounds plays in the same team and with approximately the same statistics: Holinka.

I think, with our strong Junior results lately, that guys like this may start getting taken with later picks. I feel like a lot of good players were not taken in later rounds and maybe now the scouts will realize that things have improved for the Czechs. Or, half our teams are the best collection of undrafted players in the world.lol

Why don't the Czech prospects wear the helmet cage properly? I noticed that in all age groups recently from U18 to U16.

Is that some kind of trend?

That´s actually a great thing! At least we´re going to have great euros available for World Championship and Czech Extraliga is in dire need of generational renewal. For example i would rather have guys like Tichacek and Blumel in extraliga available for national team everytime, than in AHL playoff team.

That is very true and maybe build some success on our league like the Finn's have.

However, I'd rather both of them make the NHL and making the NHL as an undrafted player is even harder. It definitely happens and is possible but it's a harder start.

I think 3 North American players just joined Extraliga too.. Kassian, some guy with a B in his last name and a third one. Seems like we are becoming a bit of a destination now too.

Blumel especially has no chance of cracking Stars roster and he also has no chance of playing for national team, what a bummer.

1+2 today in the Champions League match against Fribourg-Gottéron.
He is slowly becoming one of the team's leaders.

I'd love it if you were right, but I'd wait to make such an assessment. Last time against Vaxje he was invisible like the rest of the team and yesterday we played against a much weakened opponent. But he played well, there's no denying that.
 
Having a nice tournament for Czechia at the WJC but not much discussion of his Extraliga season thus far.

Any updates on his status as a prospect?

Looks like he may have missed some time during tonight's game with Canada (unless box score is off)

Scored a goal but is listed as only playing 1:17 of ice time.

(Doesn't seem right because I just turned game on in the second period and he's had two shifts while I'm posting this.

He is currently the most hated.man in Ottawa lol

We won't know what he is till he hits AHL. I think he's fantastic. Very nifty and shifty player.

He was the most creative and best Czech forward at the championship. I suspected he would be good, but in the end he exceeded all expectations.
 
Felt bad for him last night… seemed like the booing got to him. He had a great tournament and while I do think he milked a call or two, I was definitely still pulling for them.

Nice find in the 6th round, he looks like he will be able to do well in the AHL at least

I mentioned it in the GDT yesterday but I was hoping he would score in that game against the US. No better way to get the Canadian fans back on his side than to strike a blow against the more hated foe.

It does seem like there is a player there. He was responsible and didn't shy away from the hard areas even after the incident in the Canada game. Good tool set, hoping he can have a bump from how he's played in this tournie.

He's back next year. With open arms! Curious if he can get Minnesota to hate him too!lol
 
In a well-known Czech hockey podcast about the last junior championship, they also talked about Sikora. They said that he might be a future NHL player. And they also mentioned the opinion of former NHL player and one of the best Czech coaches V. Varaďa about Sikora. He allegedly said somewhere about him that he was perhaps the closest of all the players from that team to playing in the NHL first.
So some praise for this player..
