Former #5 overall pick in the USHL draft, committed to play college hockey at UMASS.

This kid actually looked pretty good. I thought he would see the ice more at Hlinka. When he played he was quick, high energy, shooting from everywhere.

2 goals and an assist through 2 periods so far tonight

Didn't get drafted. Started the season very well. Then cooled off. His best chance at getting drafted was scoring the whole year and letting that speak for itself. He didn't, and that might've hurt him. Still could be picked in the upcoming years.

My scouting report from his USHL season.

Going to be interesting to see where he goes this year. He’s scoring a lot this year. I think he’s good, but I’d be a little hesitant about his game. He’s a smaller winger with average, at best, skating, he’s not particularly competitive with his two-way game, nor does he have unbelievable stick skills. The area he’s best at is hockey sense. Very quick decisions. Processes the game on the ice faster than most players. He knows where to be in the offensive zone. Good scoring instincts, even if he doesn’t have exceptionally good passing or shooting ability. He seems to position himself well to be involved in scoring chances, which makes it easier to put up points without a loud shot or unbelievable passing touch. I would say a late pick, but if someone takes him like 3rd round I wouldn’t be shocked.

According to Youngstown's preseason roster numbers, looks like Burchill is back in the USHL. Result of Michigan adding through the portal. Thought Burchill would have taken off statistically by now and in the NCAA.
