Hello, Can someone tell me what with or where Julian Mettler is?
He's not at the WJC but he performed so good at the u18-WJC.
Would be a draft prospect.

He probably was Nr.17 or Nr.18 on the depth chart, that's why he didn't made the team.

He's a fine player though and will be an important puzzle piece next year.

He's eligible in 2019. He missed the 2018 draft cut by 5 days.

Purely stat-watching there, but he doesn't seem to be worth a pick yet. If Jeremi Gerber wasn't picked last year, I don't see Mettler get picked in 2019 (or 2020 unless he shows great improvement).

To be frank, his Elite A and NLB stats as an 00 born suggest strongly he isn't a serious prospect for the draft, and if he doesn't pick up the pace there are even more serious concerns.

As people mentioned above, for a guy of his size his stats aren't good enough this year to be a helper for this draft.
So unless a team fell in love with him at the last U18 WC and are willing to risk a late pick this year, I can't see him getting chosen, unless he rips apart the NLB for the rest of this season.

Gerber was sidelined with an injury at last year's U18, as was Sandro Schmid, this probably made it too risky for the Clubs to choose them.
I see both as bigger talents than Mettler and more likely picks, but Im not sure if the last 2 weeks have really helped either.
