Actually, nothing like one. One way scorer with skating questions. Nowhere near the mold of Kasper, Danielson, or MBN.

Was just gonna post that lol.

Gastrin seems like way more of a Detroit pick. Although the profile of the player type they usually go for versus what they may actually need moving forward in their system might be two different things….

I cannot talk for the others, but in my 6 or 7 isolated viewings he was most of the time invisible and not involved in the play. He his smart, he has the tools to be a top-20 pick, but does not even play like a first rounder rn. Same issue with Will Moore.
Limited views of him as well. But I've always loved his hands and his vision.

He does seem to have a very languid style so he never seems to exert a lot of effort.

Personally if he reaches the 2nd round somebody is getting an absolute steal.

If you think Kaliyev was a steal - I personally don't.

I was thinking more a right handed shooting Jason Robertson.

I like taking the chance on the player that if he hits he'll hit big.
I mean, I'm not going to act like I intensely followed teenage Jason Robertson, but that seems like and outrageous comparison on its face.

I will fully accept the egg on my face if I end up horrifically wrong in 5 years, but I don't see how people watch anything Ihs Wozniak related other than his eliteprospects page to think he should be seen as a first round prospect or in second round steal territory. Even when I think of only the swedes, he is not the guy I would categorize as a boom or bust pick even.
He will probably end up playing pro here in Sweden, but I don't see NHL in this guy, and if that happens don't see the high end player. Unless teams at the draft suddenly decide to pick like 6 of our forwards just in the first round I don't see how there won't be better options both here and elsewhere either.

How is he scoring all those points though?

I dont think ihs Wozniak is guranteed to be a Jason Robertson. Just that I can see him have that kind of development. So much of Jakob's potential is tied up to his character something i have no knowledge of.

But when i watch him I see a big rangy right handed winger who has a lot of puck skills and playmaking instincts. Soft skills u dont come by all the time in that package.

Yes he needs to increase his compete especially along the boards and his skating.

But he wouldnt be the first guy with his profile to make a big jump.

To my eye he has very good positioning in the offensive zone and is good at finding the right spots. In addition he has possesed a good finishing skillset(both in the scoring and assisting departments) compared to his peers. I think you can already see that advantage has gotten smaller. I would also say that while he is to this day not very strong on the puck, he still has had the advantage of size and reach compared to his comparables. But yeah, on a junior level I think he is good at finding the right spot and from there be clinical. But I don't think it's hard to see why he has fallen further and further behind someone like Frondell, even though I would not be surprised if he has scored more in juniors to this day.

Respect your opinion, but I think we might disagree on both on his upside and on how hard/likely it is that he is going to overcome his weaknesses. Even if his compete, skating and strength improves I don't really know if he has much more than at best a complimentary player in him at the NHL level, his entire playstyle is so not about driving play or making things happen, or be a difference maker outside of at the very end of the play. There are so many players that are better who also can do that. To me there is so much in multiple areas that needs to improve. I feel like there are more interesting players, many of whom probably will believe available whenever he gets picked.
