Yeah, but there are a lot of smallish forwards in the current NHL, there are no a lot of kucherovs and kanes amongst them, though.

If you take Demidov's combination of skating, stickhandling and IQ I can't even say what winger you can compare him to. I personally don't see any in the current NHL.

he reminds me of Celebrini but on the wing.

If both Demidov and Lindstrom are available to the Habs I reaaaally hope they don't pick the big player again and go with the highly skilled one.

They'll take Lindstrom if both are on the board.. but Lindstrom will be going before the Habs pick while Demidov likely isn't gone, obviously that's at a projection of 6th OA where they are likely to land.

Yeah, and then it's going to be funny to read all those 2024 draft threads in 10 years...

Small Russian doubt Hughes takes him. Last year passed on Michkov. Who is better player at 18.

Two things I really want! First, very difficult with his current position, but I would like the Flyers to get him. And secondly, he would play together with Michkov next year, either on loan to Sochi or both back to SKA

Nope. It’s average.
Technically, 6'1" is average for LW/RW. NHL average is 6'1" and 200lbs. Forwards are 6'0.5" average.

So technically Demidov is smaller than average. "Small" is qualitative.

I have a feeling that in 5 years Demidov will be considered the best player in this draft. As for Michkov, I still think he will have problems in the NHL because of his arrogance. Especially under Torts.

To me Demidov reminds me... Bobby Orr. He skates circles around opponents the same way Orr did. I think, their skating looks similar.
You’re setting unrealistic expectations and comparisons

What makes you think Torts will be in Philly in 2 years ?

Michkov isn't a problem, though...
Will see. So far everything looks like he is not coachable. I'm not questioning his talent or skills. But it’s also known that since childhood he was trained mainly by his father, and not by coaches. His father was in all the team’s locker rooms. Plus, cause of his truly outstanding talent, he didn’t require special advices from coaches at previous levels. Let's just say that up to a certain point natural talent was enough. But NHL is a different animal. The best players in the world are here and talent alone may not be enough. It is also unlikely that any NHL coach will be delighted that a player doesn’t do what is required of him. We’ve had many examples in the past where talented Russians failed to produce at NHL level or reached their potential. And then they were saying that there was a prejudiced attitude towards Russians.
There’s a reason why he’s in Sochi and not in SKA. We can laugh at Rotenberg and his “system” as much as we want, but Michkov isn’t in SKA now because he’s simply not a system player. He can only play in a team like Sochi, which has no goals and where he plays as he wants. There is also a reason why, despite his obvious talent, he was selected 8th in the draft. I wish him success and I hope he will prove me wrong, but so far everything looks exactly like this.

Lol, and Buchelnikov isn't a system player, and Ivanov isn't, and Demidov... and all those young kids SKA collected in previous years just to substitute them with older players from different systems.

Michkov is much more well-rounded and versatile than he used to be. One's doesn't become this without learning and taking advice from coaches.

Michkov playing for Sochi is no reflection of his commitment to winning or being a team player. The same can be said for Khusnutdinov, Buchelnikov, Ivanov.... even Demidov as he's stuck in the MHL.

His numbers are starting to get Bedardian since he got healthy for a draft-eligible Junior player (MHL vs. WHL of course). SKA is doing him a disservice.

Do you think it’s because he’s only signed with them for the next year and he won’t sign so they don’t really care what’s best for him? (Playing him MHL instead of VHL or KHL)
