8 points in one game, an HEO record, let's start the overhype. Was 4th in HEO scoring last season. Projected first round prospect for the 2023 OHL Draft also.

A little bit surprised he didn’t get picked on night one of the OHL draft! Has he been less impressive as the season went on?

The U16 players ranked ahead (PPG stat) of him in his league weren't selected either.
Yeah - it’s a rather weak year for Ottawa and the HEO.

Beauchesne was the only real higher end kid from the league this year.

i don’t think he’ll last too long today - this is the range in which I expected he’d go.

Weak league.

Last year, I heard loud noises coming from Cole Beaudoin, Benjamin Cormier and Nathan Villeneuve.

Their first OHL season was very cold. So no wonder scouts are bashing much less productive forwards this year.

Beaudoin looked good at points, and Villeneuve had a solid year.

Cormier though looks like he was riding passenger to more talented kids in a weak league.

Performing below their selection rank. Unless there is a big jump in level next year, the 3 will be undrafted.

Like I said, Villneauve and Beaudoin played fine this season. They’re 16 year olds. Not every prospect is going to produce like Liam Greentree did, which was a little fluky in my
opinion anyway.

Beaudoin in particular should get a ton of ice-time in Barrie next season as they have a lot of graduations up front and a better offensive role will happen as a result.

Villneauve may struggle to get quality ice time in Sudbury next season I’m afraid and I could see him maybe not producing as much. That said, he is a hell of a player and will absolutely be drafted next season.

Cormier on the other hand really struggled to adjust to the OHL, he wasn‘t able to creat much of anything for himself and oberall had a bad season. Alot will need to improve for him to get drafted.

As for the other two, they’re definitely on the path to an NHL draft pick.

And fwiw: Nansi went to Owen Sound in the 4th round

I also found this article. Don’t know if it‘s satirical or not but it’s a pretty crazy read.

I think it must have been written by some ignoramus who got fired up after the 8-point game.

Some say there is a problem with talking about the performances of young players, that many disappear.

Not that much. In most cases, missing players never got the level they were given.

Harry Nansi is an elite talent on the scale of Ottawa among the class of 2007. On a world scale, he does not weigh heavily.

Same thing for the 3 players mentioned above. With their level of performance, I can hardly see them being among the thirty forwards in 2006 who will have an NHL career.
