I noticed this player was ranked #79 on the Elite Prospects Top 80 prospects list but didn't have a thread yet, anyone have any info on him?

Really talented kid; excellent skater. Don’t know if he’ll be able to overcome size concerns at the next level. But He should have a hell of an NCAA career.

This guy was my highest ranked player that didn't get picked. An absolute beast.

He would've probably been picked if he played the whole season in the USHL, but he went back to play High School after a month or two and then returned for the playoffs. Still had 23 points in 23 games for Waterloo, but likely not enough games. Even then, not often you see a player thats 1PPG as a first year draft-eligible not be picked. Yeah, he's undersized, but he's not 5'6.

He was the second best player in Minnesota High School Hockey this year. There's no official runner up for Mr. Hockey, but he was the next best after Shaugabay.

I don't think we've heard the last of him. Looks like he's playing one more USHL season and then off to St. Cloud State. I think he might obliterate the USHL next season and get himself picked, but we'll see.

My scouting report from his USHL season.

One of my favorite players in the 2023 draft. He reminds me of a better version of Brett Berard. He’s a small winger, probably only about 5’9, but his motor is really good, he skates well, he has significant offense. He’s not an absolutely elite offense guy, but I think he has top 6 offense potential in the NHL between his passing, shooting, sense, and stick skills. He goes to the inside, he hounds the puck, and plays with a lot of pace. For 5’9, he’s also physical and can throw some big hits. He’s an October birthday, he’s barely played any junior hockey, and he’s barely 5’9, if he’s even that, so I don’t expect he’ll be high on many lists, but I think his stock will only rise over the years. I wouldn’t hesitate to pick him late round 2.
