F Eduard Sale - Kitchener, OHL (2023, 20th, SEA)

How on earth does someone go from 38 points in 49 games in the OHL to 11 in 12 in the AHL? I know it was his first season in north America but damn. Anyways, good on the kid. I hope he keeps it up!
Yup.. It was all so underwhelming... Then he scored against the oilers in preseason and it all changed. Was positive he was going to OHL. It's great.

Sometimes a player is more suited to professional and more mature hockey than junior level, where he has to fly and chase the puck. Sale is a good example. And a year in the junior was certainly not a bad option. Every player develops differently, sometimes it's better for European imports to get used to overseas ice in juniors, even if they don't dominate as much as some expect.

4 games without a point sadly. I dont know how it is in Coachella, does he gets a lot of space here? There are no ice time stats on AHL page, and I see there are another two good young RW in the team right now

Definitely lets to it.

No seriously would like to know what position he has in AHL right now, there is also Nyman and Firkus at RW, both are 20yrs old, all three with Sale equalty productive. Wonder who gets most time on ice out of this three and who will be the first to get some NHL games.

I agree.. I have no clue how they deploy him. Is he getting big minutes and PP or he is outscoring third and fourth lines with his elusive and sneaky play.

No idea. I do know if he comes to Ottawa that he can expect about 20 a night and a lot of PP time! I think it's the best move for him. Build confidence and maybe get that cup of coffee in the NHL later in season. Or, if Seattle falls out of playoff spot (which they are close to now), then maybe for a few games after TDL.

Watched a few games and he looks much more engaged than he did all of last season. He's skating much harder and if he had played this way last season he would've put up a lot more points in junior.

The firebirds are a pretty young team though and there are a lot of good prospects that made the jump from junior this season. I think Nyman and Firkus are getting more ice time than him so far but Sale has been playing really well.

Great ending to a great tournament. Wondering how the rest of his season will play out (and if he will get a few games in for Seattle).

Also it's incredibly quiet in this thread lol.

The Seattle fan base is pretty small and most of the folks rarely venture out of our forums.

I feel that Sale has taken strides this season. Him playing in Coachella and being able to live with Stetzka's family has been a big help. The WJC also showed that he is pretty equal among his peers. I am not sure if he gets any games on the Kraken this season because we have Nyman and Firkus likely as callups before Sale. Also, Winterton has been called up several times though has been pretty much a non-factor.

Welcome back! I still say he gets in a NHL game this season. Seattle is pretty far out from playoffs and should be sellers at TDL

I am thinking Nyman, Firkus, Sale are potential callups after the TDL or closer to the end of the season. Physically, I would expect Nyman to be most NHL ready between the three of them.

For sure. I'm not saying he's going full time. I just thinking 1 or 2 games and then back to Coachella with a to do list. Next year, hoping he's near first callup and gets in 20 to 30 games. Something like that is what I'm seeing. A year ago I was seeing OHL again and then AHL and then Europe and BUST. Which can still happen but he has size, skill and vision. He also is good defensively. Jaromir Jagr he is not.lol
