coaching hockey ≠ playing hockeySo I assume he never tries on defense?
any updates on how danny looks this season? where's he projected - 3rd to 5th?
Not surprising, guys like him and Beecher were always going to get buried. I get choosing the USNTDP path if you are a legit top 6 player or top 4 defender for them, but otherwise, it is probably in kids best interests to go to a USHL or CHL team.On a completely loaded U18 team, he hasn't been very noticeable this season.

While that makes sense in some cases, there are some benefits to being on the NTDP that a young player cannot get in the USHL or CHL. Access to a world class training facility, an opportunity to travel and play abroad, and an almost-guarantee of an NCAA Division I scholarship offer (very few NTDP players do not get one) can all be important to a player who very likely will not make it to the NHL.

A Brent Gretzky type huh? Ah wellWeight isn’t a draftable prospect, in my opinion.
It seems most USNTDP kids come into the program with significant offers. I mean, Beecher committed to Michigan before he even played a game for the USNTDP. Weight committed prior to playing a game too. Although, nothing is binding until your letter of intent as a high-school senior. While that makes sense in some cases, there are some benefits to being on the NTDP that a young player cannot get in the USHL or CHL.
