I think this kid could be one of the top ‘07‘s in the world.

Phenomenal playmaker and always has his motor going 100% type of guy every coach loves to have on their team. Potter reminds me of Logan Cooley in the sense that they maintain possession of the puck through the most tumultuous circumstances. The way he is able to use his skating and puck handling ability to gain entry in the offensive zone through transition then create a scoring chance in one fluid motion is almost poetic.

I just have a feeling that the ’07 crop of talent for the US is going to be real good. This kid is definitely one to watch.

Are you more excited about them than the '06 crop? Obviously it's very early but I always thought that group could be special with Eiserman, Hagens, and Hensler, among others

the 2025 NHL Draft crop out of the USA in general look amazing - obviously having two of the top ‘06’s helps but the group of:

Hagens
Hensler
Potter
Belle
Mooney
Fondrk
Whitehead
Dennis
Kor
McKinney
Fleece
Fiddler
Judge

All in one draft class makes me believe that the 2025 class could stack up against some of the best drafts the US has ever had. Still early though so take it with a grain of salt - but things look real promisin.

Didn’t even mention Simpson, the younger Brzustewicz, McKinnon, Hedley, Cornforth, Horcoff, Kempf, Rheaume-Mullen, Murtagh and Lee.

Never seen him outside clips but he sounds promising. PP has had him #2 with a bullet to only Mooney among the ‘07 Americans for over a year now and sounds like Potter is doing everything to back up the hype. Also this Dallas team is one of the best in the nation at 16U, looks like they are ranked third nationally.

It does seem nuts to me that we are at the point of doing advanced analytics on 16U leagues but here we are…

Wild to see a kid who has spent a lot of time in Wisconsin and whose parents are Minnesotan move to Dallas for hockey. Did one of his parents take a job there or was it purely a hockey move?

What CHL league is he eligible for? Born in Illinois would meean OHL, but I've seen him listed as being from Miinnesota too so that would be WHL?

Who does he resemble in terms of playing style? Is he on par with LJ Mooney or a notch lower at this point?

Anyone get eyes on Cullen in the last 5-6 months? I’m hearing great things, I assume he made the NDTP team.

He made it, been one of the top kids of his class for a while now and only continued to prove it at the selection camp.

There is a scouting report at the beginning of the thread, written by yours truly that holds true today.

Commits to Michigan State. They’ve been recruiting like crazy lately but Potter may be the crown jewel when he arrives on campus. PuckPreps #1 American for 2007 right now.

Sparty is building something special hopefully.

Love to see Sparty continue rolling. Still too early to know how good Potter is but nice to see him start his NTDP run with 3 points in his first 2 games.
Great get for MSU, they’re doing an unreal job rebuilding that program. Potter is who I have my eye on the most on this team. I think he could have a Hagens/Matthews like rise. I just want to see a bit more of him play to see what his hockey sense is like. Hes an unreal skater

Yes? He's 5'9 161 at 16, which is decent. If he doesn't grow much it'll limit his draft stock but he doesn't need a significant growth spurt or anything for size to not be a concern.
From what has been stated earlier in the thread he has a good motor so does that make the height concerns less?

anyone know the measurements of his father/brothers if he has them?
