34GP - 8 PTS.
Hope he can improve at Michigan. Last year the he was mainly playing on the 4th line
Michigan could have used his size. They’re very small.Michigan State, not Michigan
Playing with better players like Isaac Howard (who I believe he played with a good amount at the NTDP) definitely helps6 points in 8 games, +5. Not "tearing it up" necessarily but definitely coming into his own at the NCAA level. Transfer seems to have worked out well for him.
Yes and he plays on the second line. I can see a bottom 6 player down the line but he will not have a primary role in the nhl. He need to produce more at his D+2.Playing with better players like Isaac Howard (who I believe he played with a good amount at the NTDP) definitely helps
If a player projects as an NHL’er of any sort, I don’t see how you can say they shouldn’t have been a first round pick. Getting a regular NHL’er in the late first isn’t bad. Plenty of firsts don’t even stick in the NHL. And it’s early to know with Stramel what he’ll be.Finally showing what he can do. His talent isnt worth a 1st round pick, but he still could develop into a serviceable role player.
This thread wouldn't be so quiet if he wasn't having a solid season. Quieting the doubters.

He’s a power forward type. His offense is at the net. He’ll probably have more NHL success than the two forwards who did a lot of the work, so I’m not sure it’s as important as you are suggesting.2 of the 3 forwards sure did a lot of the work on that goal.
Also not sure it's quite a critic silencer. Any much less production playing where he's playing would just be a further indictment. He’s a power forward type. His offense is at the net. He has a high floor, too. 1C on the best team in the country. Defends well, wins draws and skates well for a big RHSThe GWG against his old teamGlad for him, stlill think that he have a low ceiling, maybe middle 6 player or a 4th line center.
Hope he can continue on his pace.
Stop hating Stramel2 of the 3 forwards sure did a lot of the work on that goal.

But he's at least earned some leeway by approaching expectations so far.
Hard not to be happy for the kid. He’s a good defensive player too2+1=3 points tonight against Michigan. Has 8+13=21 points in 24 games. He’s their second leading scorer and the 1C for the #1 ranked team in the country right now.

Technically I think the "bashing" was more because he was having a worse 2nd year than an already pretty poor 1st.Nice to hear. Bashing he took last year because he was left off USA roster was way over the top.
