Small (5’9) cerebral forward is now at 18 points in 18gp, after a massive 4 point night last night playing mainly with OliverTulk and Carson Wetsch.

I’ve only seen 2 of his games in addition to highlights so maybe others have more to add on his potential, but I’ve loved his quick decision making and snap passing. Maybe he grows a bit and becomes a 2-3 rounder next year?

Easily the teams 2nd best forward behind overager Tschigerl.

I don't know what others think but how many 07 born kids are PPG and this dominant in the CHL? Let alone on a team with very little offense. His size or lack there of will be a concern should he not get bigger but there's definitely 1st round potential there. Hard to say anything else. Very lively shift after shift, creating lots of chances for himself and his teammates.

I'm no skating expert but it looks great to me. He's certainly an above average skater in the WHL already. Maybe not the fastest out there but I like his edge work and mobility a lot.

I really think the main concern is gonna be size. He's really small and very skinny. Against fellow kids, though older ones, it's not gonna matter much but nhl scouts might doubt his ability to play vs men. He's just 16 yo though. Hopefully he's gonna grow and hit the gym hard.

With Calgary on the cusp of missing the WHL playoffs is there a likelihood of Kindel representing Canada at the U18 WJC?
 
Had another 4 point night vs Edmonton last game. I think he could finish the season at PPG or better. Not bad for an 07 kid. Righty with incredibly smooth skating, soft hands and elite vision. Could go high in the 2025 draft and become one heck of a player once he fills out.

Still surprised Hockey Canada didn't select him for the U-17s. He was, and still is, having one of the best U-17 seasons in the CHL.

I think he may be a sleeper. He's on the smaller side, but he wins a lot of puck battles (16 against Brandon) and steals a lot of pucks. I like his motor, he can be creative at times, and seems to have a very good release. His production has been good since he joined the W.

His motor is impressive indeed. Not really physical but he's so intense both with and without the puck. Always hustling, never taking a shift of despite playing heavy minutes. I like his vision as well. Could be one of the risers of this season. The Hitmen now have a vacant overager slot and I hope they're gonna acquire a winger for Kindel. Hvidston doesn't always play with Kindel and he's the only decent winger the Hitmen have. Not sure what's wrong with Fawcett. Really liked him last season but he sucks so far this season. It's tough to be productive if you have to play with plugs.

Based on his talent he absolutely should but his point production could be better for such a small and skinny kid. He does lead his team in points despite essentially never playing with Tulk and rarely with Hvidston at even strength but if he doesn't start scoring at a higher pace then NHL teams are gonna doubt him even if he doesn't get capable wingers all season long.

Kid's got excellent vision. He hits highlight reel passes every game. Still though size remains a concern. Draft is weaker overall so he's very likely a top 20-25 pick.

I've mentioned before that I feel like Cole Reschny kind of falls into that Peyton Krebs/Sam Steel range where a guy is a smallish all-around WHL star but might not have any really dynamic skills that pop enough to project as a top-6 NHL C. Kindel, on the other hand, has puck skills and creativity that are just a notch or two higher and it's a lot easier to see a Marco Rossi sort of projection there.

Had 3 points in his first 6 games this year and has basically been at 2 points/game since and kept pace with McKenna as the highest-producing WHL forwards outside of Cristall. Genuinely impressive season, one of the best draft years for a WHL skill player not named Bedard in a long time.

Hope he keeps it up. Have been impressed with more and more viewings.

I tend to agree, I haven't seen a ton of either of them but I'm a bigger fan of Kindel than I am of Reschny.

One thing that has impressed me about Kindel is his stretch passing. Usually more of a D-man trait, but I've seen Kindel has sprung Tulk for a breakaway with a 100+ foot pass multiple times in the few games I've watched.
