Trying to get a sense of where he stands as a 24-year-old. Seemed to have a bit of a breakout in 2022-23.

Played just 33 games do to injury this past season and did not produce points at the same rate.

Probably end up just keeping him because what a team will offer be basically just giving him away.

not-quite-established, waivers-vulnerable, marginal players can have light or unpredictable value
BUT it only takes one team whose scout remembers him fondly

most likely trade outcome would be either
"change of scenery' for comparable age/pedigree/success
or as a sweetener in a deal where he is not the priority

His value is nebulous to the point that Utah will indubitably just keep him.

Unless some team wants him in part of a package as a "lottery ticket" in exchange for a better veteran center...he'll just remain a Utah Yute. While they continue to figure out just how overdrafted he was, or not. The upside there is still too much to just give him away when they badly need good Centers. And they're already fully sunk into the cost of investment with an overly high 1st rounder. Nobody is going to meet that value.

I like Hayton. Floated his name as a player that could possibly pop and be a late bloomer for the Isles to possibly offset losing Pageau/Nelson. I also like Ross Colton as another candidate. Being a 2C for BH maybe wishful thinking, but always rooted for the kid and can't wait to see the entire Utah team in action in a few months.

I would like Hatton on the Pens he’d be a real nice 3C option.

Is Utah trying to compete now? If so maybe Rakell for Hayton. If not, maybe a 2nd and a 4th?
