Along with Adam Benák, the leader of the Plzen-U20 team is his namesake Titlbach. I have been following this hockey player for more than eight years. Even at that age, playing for the Litvinov team, Titlbach was involved in games for guys two years older. He later moved to Chomutov, now playing for Plzen. Even then, he impressed with his phenomenal speed and excellent shot. For some time he was considered the best Czech hockey player in 2006 - then Jecho replaced him, and later Jiřicek-jr. began to be considered as such. But even now Titlbach looks good in the Plzen team (he scored 9 points in the last 4 games), he is constantly invited to the Czech national team by his age.

I must admit I never really liked him and watching him play I never understood why he puts up as many points as he does. Sure he’s got some speed and hands, but I always questioned his hockey sense and he didn’t strike me as a player who’ll continue to thrive against bigger opponents who are equally talented. Would be happy to be proven wrong but there are probably 8 players on the Czech U17 team I like more than him.

I have a similar opinion of him, but I would definitely give him more time..

As well as in the playoff series of the league "Dorost" against Slavia, and in the next series against Mlada Boleslav, the fate of a ticket to the next round was decided in the last game. In both of these decisive games, Adam Titlbach scored 4 points. Along with Adam Benak, Titlbach leads the list of scorers in the playoffs.
...Adam has a great chemistry with Benak.
Also has a good shot.

Don’t have anything to add - but I love the last name.
When the name Tittlbach is mentioned in our country, everyone thinks of the former sports commentator of a newly-started TV station. He was known for his rants, low level of commentary. Over time, his twists and turns od phrase became legendary:laugh: There is also a page that records them.

Selected by Vancouver in the CHL Import Draft. Interesting pick given the Giants' recent success with their imports (e.g. Lysell and Honzek).

I watched some more of the Czech U17 group and Titlbach frequently stands out but I continue to feel like his play away from the puck is a lot better than with it. Which is funny given the numbers he puts up. He's an aggressive, high-energy player and frequently intercepts passes on the forecheck/backcheck but everything he does with the puck is based on his quick feet and trying to get away, but I don't think his skating is really good enough to do that at the next level. He struggles to beat opponents one on one and often dumps pucks in. His passing accuracy has room for improvement too. Very curious to see how he'll do in Vancouver.

Is it confirmed he's coming over?

This player has always stood out to me in the junior NT games against Switzerland. Im sure he would have more hype if he had a slightly bigger frame. I still think he has enough tools to compensate for that and make it to the NHL eventually.

I get this player divides the posters here, I'm a big fan and all I've ever seen is good. Mock away but I love this kid.

Seems like an excellent addition to the Giants. I'm looking forward to getting out to a few games to check out Titty and follow his progress.

Titlbach has Dmitry Zavgorodny 2.0 written all over him. Been watching a bit of this Medicine Hat game and I see so many similarities. When you are his size and i legit doubt that he is 5 foot 9, you have to be an elite skater or a zach benson style of IQ and grind. Titlbach is neither. I get Vancouver sucks again, but they still have more then enough talent for Titlbach to be an impact player. He hangs out on the perimeter way too much and has a lot of difficulty getting to scoring zones against the more physical defenseman of the WHL. He also doesn’t really play 2 way game, and is not a C so why Manny thought that experiment would work is a bit baffling.

A lot of the Czech posters are not fans of his either. I'm not one of them but most the knowledgeable Czech posters seem to not be big fans of his.

I don’t think he will be drafted even.

Barring something stunning in the 2nd half of the season, definitely not.

If he stays in the WHL he'll probably be a productive player at that level over the next two years and have a nice career in the Czech league after that but there's really not much pro potential there - you have to be a lot more skilled than this to make the NHL at 5'9.

To bad, but smaller players sometimes struggle to get acclimated in the CHL. He could be due for a big D+1 season next year. The talent is there in my opinion.

His ceiling went from mid round pick to Gabriel Sturcz! I really like Stuzrc so it's not an insult but smaller Euro forward who doesn't look like he's close to getting drafted.

He looked like he would have a good year based on how he played at the Hlinka.. bone dry since.
I was very wrong about others from that 06 Czech group, so I won’t pat my back too hard. But I always thought Titlbach would come crashing down the second he’s removed from Benak. He played with Benak every single shift both with the national team and with his club team and that significantly helped him. Neither his sense nor his skating or skill are at the level they’d need to be for him to become a legitimate prospect. And the move to Vancouver exposes it.

That said, I’m 100% sure he’s not quite as bad as I once thought and will be a good junior player at 18 and 19.

Most of us get more wrong than we get right when it comes to scouting.. so pat your back when you are right.

He looked to at least have the goal scoring ability to put pucks in at this level but even that hasn't come out. Might progress as he gets older but definitely hurts his draft chances.
